I also have that problem, TV on for about a hour screen goes black, red light above lamp indicator on. I then hit power button TV resets and turns on, sometimes no other problems, sometimes a hour later the sames thing happens. I did replace lamp 12/23/08 and now have talked to their customer service and they advise the ballast power circuit may be at fault. I was advised to replace ballast because it can now lead to another lamp failure. I have found philips lamp for $120.00
