Anyways Entorage is fiction.
This show is pretty unique in how it blurs the lines of reality and fiction though.

With guys like James Cameron and Paul Haggis playing themselves. I guess the rapper playing Saigon is a hotly anticipated rapper himself who is about to put out his debut CD http://www.recordonline.com/archive/...gon-07-10.html

Kevin Dillon's character must be pretty close to his real life as well.

Great show and maybe a bit over the top with all those Aston Martins.
But really, a great episode.

As for Whores in the City, trust me being in NYC you don't want to deal with these over-rated self-centered women. Don't know how many years it was on because I thought it was tripe, but those females were looking pretty haggard at the end.

Entourage is a show that's growing, funny and can have legs for a long time.
Jeremy Piven is absolutely superb in every frame.
Looks great in HD too.

Couple thoughts:

I always wonder how closely the general story line matches the real life rise of Mark Wahlberg.

I like how they subtly work-in plenty of ads (e.g. cars, restaurants, etc) without going overboard. Example, would've been cheesy if Wolfgang Puck came out to personally greet Ari and gang while eating at Spagos.

Like Dom, I'm glad Max (Ari's daughter's friend) will be off the show.

I love the show, but think there's lots of bad acting (e.g. Vince, side characters like the housekeeper in last show, Dom, Max, etc). Couldn't they find better actors for such a great show?

I think Shawna and Lloyd are great characters.

Amen brother!

New to the show. Have seen 2 episodes now and feel like I'm missing out. Was thinking about buying the first 2 seasons but it seems that Season 1 is not in widescreen on dvd. Is that true or am I looking in the wrong places?
Entourage finally went HD in season 3.
Season 2 is definitely worth suffering thru 4:3...and season 1 was good enough to warrant watching season 2.
That's the deal, I can find season 2 in widescreen. Amazon, Best Buy- they all have it in widescreen. I may just rent the first 2 seasons. I have Grey's Anatomy and House and they haven't been taken out of the plastic. In fact, the only show I have the season on is Laguna Beach- yes it's emarassing- and I only watched it once.

Agree whole-heartedly...Dom and Max sucked.

There's my dose of helpful constructive criticism for the day.

Those are all misprints. The show didn't begin 16:9 HD production until the current season.
So did they stretch or zoom it or is it a true misprint? That's a drag. In the end, it's all splitting hairs any way. I won't watch the show because it's in hd, I watch it because I like it. I just need to go rent them anyway. Thanx a bunch.

The DVDs I got from Netflix for Season 1 and 2 were stretched and looked terrible.

The DVDs for Seasons 1 and 2 are 4:3. It's your TV doing the stretching, not the disc.

Well... It's not "produced in SD" -- it's shot on film. The only issue with it being mastered in HD Is whether they protected for the 16x9 frame or not. I would really hope they'd finally started doing so, for the DVDs if nothing else, but I guess we'll see.

Re Entourage -- wow, it is really different to hear a bunch of guys talking about this show and how you perceive it as opposed to my friends :) Some sociology student should write a paper or something.

I just watched last Sundays episode, I had been away on a cruise.
I my opinion it was the best episide of the season by far !.

I look forward to the show each week, can't wait until Sunday !
Yeah but I'm starting to like the DVD better because you can watch straight through
post #167 of 330
no one has brought it up yet?? 3-SOME!! THREE!! ménage Ã* trois!! whoohoo!!
I liked how Ari told Lloyd he'll get paid in Yen :)
ari and lloyd are the best odd couple ever. lloyd is probably going to be drama's agent huh? this will be great.

do you think the warner exec is fictional? they seem to be taking a lot of shots at him, i wonder if hbo's parent company is ok with that. he is pretty brutal i'm glad vinny stuck to his guns. i'm sure he'll find much better work that is more fulfilling to him now.

I love this show!! Lloyd as Dramas agent would be hilarious. I agree that Lloyd and Ari make a great odd couple type team. I still love Dramas head shot from the apple store. And also thinking that Ari REALLY regrets agreeing to be Dramas agent as Vince is now even less responsive.

Oh and way to E!!!
E is a GOD!!!!

This season started out slowly, but each episode has been better than the previous weeks. Last nights was a classic! I haven't laughed so hard at a tv show in a long time.

I think it's very deliberately a Warners exec so it comes across as an in-joke -- much like every comment that's been made on the show about doing television as opposed to film.

Mark Wahlberg did say on one of the promos that it's getting easier and easier for them to get "names" for cameos. If you aren't on the show, you stand a much better chance at being a victim of it. :)

Heh. Maybe. Or it could result in Vince getting a reputation as "difficult" which will not help his career at all at the stage it's in right now. You have to be a name on the level of Russell Crowe (proven box office, academy award, etc.) to overcome that kind of baggage.

Being publically fired from a huge success like Aquaman is not going to do him any favors in the short term. Toby McGuire looked pretty bad in the press when he almost didn't end up doing Spiderman 2... I can only imagine how much worse it would be if he was actually fired.

Really? I laughed at Ari's "gang-raped by a gaggle of silverback apes" line and not much else. I think this season has been mired in a slump from the opening episode. Ari is about the only guaranteed laugh. Everybody else has been on auto-pilot and to be stuck with another Aquaman plot-line after last season makes it seem like they're already running out of ideas.
I bet whats going on in this season is that the show was picked up for more episodes, therefore the writers had to put in more dialog to stretch it out.. I'd be willing to bet at the end of the season it will have all been worth it... btw I still watch this show like its my religion, so maybe im biased

Well, well..... I was thinking about adding this show to my weekly viewing list now that it's in HD, and just catching up with the previous two seasons via In Demand, DVD's or something. It's only a 30 minute show so I figured it would only have half the time commitment other shows I watch have.

The question now is: is it really worth it? I watched this season's premiere (have the ones since on the ol' DVR) and, while it was "okay", I expected something a whole lot funnier considering all the hype this series has generated.
So far this season has been sort of a let down for me. Not on par with season 2 which I found to be excellent. I'm still watching, now that Ari has something to totally freak about I think it will improve. As far as I'm concerned, the more Ari, the better.

It is to me. It's either Entourage or more sitcoms and reality shows. It's not quite as polished as Sex and Sopranos, but different and fresh. You might wanna watch the previous seasons to understand the characters better (mainly Ari, who previously was the hot shot at a bigger firm & recently started his own company; and Vince's rise to fame).

Tell me you didn't laugh when Turtle & Drama were telling E how they would be spending their nights (after he told them about the 3-way suggestion from his girlfriend).

When I watch the show I am not necessarily looking for laughs. The inside Hollywood business talk is more interesting to me than the jokes.
