any speculation on a commercial model 58" when the new ones come out this fall??

If so, what will MSRP likely be? and what will MSRP on the new 50" commercial model be?
Good Idea nowknown - It can be a PITA to go through an entire thread dominated by 42/50 to find any info on the new 58" and it is deserving of it's own space as it is becoming a unique entry for us to consider and determine if BIGGER is really BETTER! .

I noticed that Plasmaplanet is doing pre-orders and they project the 58" 600U as June 1 and the 65" 600U projected as Aug 1 cannot mention prices though (I think they used stock photo's though as they don't all match Bruzzi's).

Doesn't the 600 version come with the installable diamond shape stand like the 500U had? It weighed 26 lbs but was installable and included separately in the box. I have a Bello 2663 stand 63" wide that can accomodate most panels up around 65".

http://www.dtvcity.com/furniture/fur...model=AVS-2663

I guess one may have to study 60" installable stands but the good news these are supposed to be lighter than previous panels.

It would have been nice if the 58 was 1080P. How much is that thing going to weigh?

Yessir. Well said.

Thanks, but I was looking more for this type:

It's a BDI Vista 9960. Says it can accommodate up to 55...

Looks awesome. Anyone ever use or even hear of them? I checked Reseller-Ratings-dot-kom and they came up, but with absolutely zero feedback. Have they been around long?

Thanks for the thread nowknown! This could be the PDP that breaks my paralysis.

There seems to be 2 different suggested MSRP's for the 58 60u $4599 and $5499. Any idea which is right?

I am also interested in the 58 600u but unless they debut at the same time, I will not be able to hold out.
They also seem to go by the name PlasmaCity

With different phone numbers and street addresses

However the Fax # is the same on both
Any idea if Panny direct will carry it or is it to big for them to bother with 1 by 1 shipments to houses?

I have the 50" back ordered until May, but would consider the 58" if I could get it through Panasonic Direct.

Just started building a house, and I'm working out the plans for my built-in entertainment center. I actually plan on resting the TV on a ledge, using the supplied pedestal.

I have a couple questions:

1) Which pedestal is the 58PX60U going to come with?
2) What is the measurement from the bottom edge of the screen to the bottom of the pedestal, when installed?

Thanks guys. Good to see this thread getting some traction. I'll check in tommorrow with more bits. Have fun...

Interesting thought: Given the new 65" 1080p model does not sport the new higher contrast ratios and the 58" apparently does, the 58" model could conceivably look better from a reasonable viewing distance (at which you can't see the pixels on the 58", but still perceive the better contrast).

MSRP for 58" 60u is $5,499

As to not being able to hold out, I have a 58" 60u on order which is supposed to come in on Monday 4/10. The 600 is showing on the store's computer with the same arrival date, but that date is supposedly very suspect for the 600 (but supposedly solid for the 60). If the 600 arrives by Friday 4/14 or has a realistic delivery date shortly thereafter I will switch to the 600, otherwise I'm sticking with the 60. I can't wait anymore!!!!!

Those are the dimensions for the 600. The 60 is 55.1"w x 36.8"h x 3.9"d

This is the remote for the 58" 60U & 600U

And possibly the 50" 600U

Can you point me to where you found these dimensions for the 58" 600U? I'm getting ready to construct an alcove for this exact plasma and need to be sure of the dimensions before I proceed. Thanks....
I predict this will be the most sought after panel of the year beacause of its price point.

I changed from wanting the 65" to the 58" and its not fun waiting,,, waiting sucks.
Anyone care to guess whos guna have the 58" incher first, onlines or B&M's ?
I have been checking in person on almost a daily basis with my local B&M's to see if the have the 58 in their systems yet and nobody knows it even is coming out.

And yeh, what is the weight, Im really hopin I dont have to change out my mount from my current Panny 50" wall mount.

And thanks "nowknown" for starting this thread,,,,,, I was so sick of reading about all the other plasma sizes in that other "sightings" thread.
All I care about at this time is the 58 inchers.

Rich, I'm not sure, but from our distance (12+ feet), we'll be getting the 58 for everyday use. And to hold out space for the projector. If we opt for the 65, we'll still not have a movie theater, but we'll have a giant everyday TV and a harder mental leap to the combo setup.

As it is, we figure we can add the projector later once we find one with a big enough offset and small enough footprint for a modest ceiling mount.
Do you think I will have a problem with SDE from a distance of ~11ft? If so, I would have to go for the 50 or 65
post #23 of 941
Haven't heard about the anti-glare coating since the speculation days for this panel. Is there a special coating for this generation panel?

Most stands are waaaay too low for my tastes. The panasonic stand looks cool with 3 shelves. How high is it?
Does anyone know if the shelf-stands are included in the 600 series, or are they optional?

Isn't this the "official" release date?

Okay, the Japanese TH-58PX600 is 62 kilograms which translates to about 137 pounds.
