How do you set the record time?
It seems to be set at 2 hours - is there a way to change this?
For example, if I have 2 - 1 hour recordings - and 1 is actaully 61 minutes - the second recording will not fit on a disc.
The record mode that the unit is set on when you start a recording determines how much time you will be able to record on a disc. XP-1 hour, SP-2hr, LP-4hr, and EP-6hr.
Recording from line inputs...You can set a timer recording, rather than pressing the record button. Press schedule to set a timer recording, then when you get to Rec Mode, set the second hour to record in FR mode.
FR stands for Flex Record, and it means that the unit adjusts the bitrate during recording to allow that remaining program to be recorded in the best possible picture quality. The first program that lasts 61 mins, if you record it in SP 2 Hr mode, means the secord recorded in FR, will be recorded at a pic quality slightly lower than SP, but higher than the 4 hour LP mode. LP mode on these newer Panny models is near equal to the 2 Hour SP mode, so you shouldn't worry about how good it will look.
