What is going with my TV? It is an HL-S6187W
See attached pics. After 4 years of service on the original bulb, I recently changed out the old bulb as the TV picture had become dim. I reused the old bulb housing with the new bulb, as the housing they sent had a small piece chipped off the top of it and I did not know if that might cause a problem. See post above.
Shortly after putting the new bulb in, perhaps just coincidence, I noticed that in the lower center of the screen, there is a vertical "beam" or fuzzy streak of light that can be seen at times. It almost appears like a "leak" of light coming through. Usually, it is most noticeable during things l channel changes, where you have a moment of mostly dark screen. But one can see it if you know it is there while watching programming.
See attached pictures. In the first one, the photo also shows what looks like a dim mirror image of the information bar at the tops of the screen. I don't know what that mirror image is about, as you do not see that phenomenon with the human eye. The eye only sees the "beam of light" as in the second closer-in photo.
Any ideas as to what is going on with the TV?
