Except that unlike "Auditor55" or even "Artwood" you can GOOGLE "Jim Conforti"
and see what I am, and what I do - maybe even find a picture of me teaching
one of my seminars. Nothing to do with Canon, Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic,
Vizio, Westinghouse, nor any other CE manufacturer. Although because of WHAT
I do, I have customers and/or friends who work in many of the CE manufacturers.
I've also been on here since 2002 as a registered member, and long before then
as a "lurker" as I was watching HDTV in 2000 on an RCA MM36100 and DTC100.
Yet still, I've been called an "Industry Plant" by him.
All because a friend of mine who WORKS for CANON says that internal watercooler
scuttlebutt is that barring some miracle, SED is dead. Now personally, I don't
have a pony in that race. I won't be buying a SED screen either way. I will
however be buying MULTIPLE 1080p displays in the next 12 months. YMMV
: RUMOR, GOSSIP
Rumor is define as:
1 : talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source
2 : a statement or report current without known authority for its truth
Gossip is defined as:
Now looking at the basic meaning of these words, you are doing nothing but spreading gossip and rumor, (a statement or report current without known authority for its truth). In view of the foregoing definitions I have cited, as it applies to your post regarding viability of SED, I must conclude that you must have some kind of vested interest in not seeing this technology make to the market. You absolutely have no facts to base your opinion on , you can't or you refuse to cite an official source from Toshiba or Canon indicating that SED isn't going to make it to the market.
I say to you now, please cite a source, not some unknown mystery person inside of Canon or Toshiba that none of us here can check the vaildy thereof. Please give us a name, position or title of the person that's feeding you this information or misinformation so that we chance to email or write them regarding the status of SED display technology.
We need to confirm that what you are saying is true. Do to industry plants, we can't trust your word alone, I hope you understand that, nothing personal, we can't make decisions based upon gossip, rumor and heresay. We who are suffering through era of microdisplays and other ill conceived, half baked display technologies are waiting patiently for something like SED to deliver us from the clutches or over priced, poor quality display choices that currently proliferate the market.
In my conclusion, gossip, hearsay, rumor, innuendo and unsubstantiated claims and reports are not helpful to those of us seeking true knowledge, information and facts about current and future display technologies. Any Joe Blow, Tom, Dick or Harry can come in here and spread gossip, innuendo, unsubstantiated claims, rumors and yes "scuttlebutt".
For the record, I'm not against 1080p, however I do believe that the consumer must be informed, positive and negative, about this stuff the consumer electronics industry is putting out called 1080p.
