I used it to find out if the 1130 was still available to order and, at least, got a confirmation that, yes, it is. I asked about the 1140, but they said they had no information on that yet. But they also didn't deny that there was an 1140 coming either.

About the only consistent thing I've been told by dealers is that the MR is history in the 7th gen units, both standard and Elite, and that the new panels are approximate 4.25" deep to allow for the integrated MR.

The speakers on the new models are bottom mounted and are not removeable on the 42" .

The 42 and 50 are slated to ship in June , the 60 in August.

The 50" Elite 1080P is scheduled for July.

The other Elites are scheduled for August-September.

This information comes from the dealer show Pioneer had in California last week.

Any price info for the 60"? If it's 8K or less I'll buy it.
I don't think I'm supposed to say, but it will be more than worth the wait.

Did you get to see a demo of the 50" 1080p display (PRO-FHD1)? If so, could you please give us your impressions and improvements over previous generation.

Our buyer was there, not me, but he thought it was stunning- of course they were showing brightly lit low motion nature scenes so a complete evaluation will have to wait.

Pioneer dealers are getting info anytime now. By mid June all should be revealed and then we can make our purchasing decisions. So what do we have confirmed?
PDP-6070HD - 60"
PDP-5070HD - 50"
PDP-4270HD - 42"
PDP-427px ?? (is this the same as above?)
PRO-FHD1 - 50"

Are there anymore?

Is it really 60 inch or 61? Neither Pio nor NEC have had a 60 inch panel up to now.

cpcat: Please post if you ever find out if the Panasonic 60Us have the same problems with 720p that the 50Us have. I'll believe you--I'd be afraid to believe all the Panasonic lovers here.

60 inches is correct.

The previous Pioneer 61" models used old technology NEC glass. The new units are the first models larger than 50" to use Pioneer technology glass. This required a completely new line and afforded Pioneer an opportunity to change the size.

I am in the market for a BIG display 60+ for my home theatre and my dealer (Pioneer/Elite) is offering me the 1410HD for a decent deal ($7XXX, installed w/mount). But he too just came back from the Pioneer meeting in California and said there will be a new 60" coming out in the Fall, and the Elite version will be out prob close to end of the year.

Since I got store credit with him and plus I have zero TV in my house, I am eager to get one ASAP. But with this recent news, I am wondering if I should just wait for the new 60". If so, maybe I should get a current 50" (1130 or 5060) for my theatre for now, then when the 60" comes out, buy that and move the "older" 50" to my family room.

Do you think now is really a BAD TIMING to get the 1410HD? even at a decent price? Anyone know how much the new 60" will cost? (My dealer is saying MSRP approx. $6000 for the Pioneer version, and maybe $7000 for Elite).

No, he was not able to see any working displays at the meeting, so he wasn't able to tell me how much the new 60" has improved over the older 61"

just canceled my order for the pdp-427hx and called and purchased the pdp-507hx, doing this right the first time price was [EDIT] and will be in last week of june

So, based on the Yahoo! Finance currency converter, the MSRP of 600,000 Yen = ~$5350. Pretty good for a Pioneer MSRP! I disagree with their move to make the frame larger - I think the 506 looks better.

If you can wait, I'd wait for the new models. The 1410's black levels are a little lacking, and the new set should provide more features as well as improved picture.

Anyone know what the difference is between the PDP-5000EX is and how it compares to the 507HX? Maybe the 5000 is japan only?

I have seen some distributor pricing also. Based on the price difference between the old and the new models the estimated MSRP 'may' be something like:

4270HD $3,499

5070HD $4,499

6070HD $6,499

Just a guess.
I have no MSRP pricing, but am told the new Elite model #'s for 50" & 60" are

Pro-1140HD
Pro-1540HD

this was given to me by Pioneer, but I can't be sure.. information should be forthcoming shortly.
