Chad Billheimer - Ohio Calibration

Thread Starter
I just wanted to acknowledge what a phenomenal job Chad did with my Mitsubishi 52628 DLP set. Chad arrived promptly at noon this past Saturday (April 29, 2006) and began work on the set. He cleaned the mirror and screen before doing any grayscale, color, or geometry adjustment. Chad spent six hours working to make sure my Mits can put out the best it can do. Not surprising with the initial preadjustment graphs the blue was way off the chart. The green and red were not that much better. After the calibration Chad achieved an almost flat line with all three colors. Gray scale, was corrected, geometry was pretty good out of factory but he made slight adjustment on that as well.

Chad calibrated both my HDMI inputs on the TV for my Dish Network HD receiver, my Denon 3910 DVD player, and my Oppo DVD player. (Dish and Denon run out of my AVR 3806 receiver into my HDMI 1 in) and Oppo runs directly via DVI out to HDMI 2 in on TV)

After six hours the results are stunning! Chad is such a great young man. Very patient, and willing to explain all that he is doing. I highly recommend him for knowledgeable calibration.

You can do a search on Chad Billheimer and it will lead you to his homepage. I found out about Chad here at AVS and contacted him via his homepage. He is very responsive.

Chad did a calibration on my Sony kd30xs955. He worked on it about 4.5 hours & was painstaking in his adjustments. He is very professional, and did a great job. His price is fair & he certainly earns it, in the 4.5 hrs. he worked on my set, he took no breaks except to use the bathroom & drink about half a glass of water. He is very dedicated to what he does & the results of his dedication showed up on my t.v. screen

I am planning to have Chad calibrate my Sony KDF-E55A20 as soon as I move to my new house (if not sooner) He will also be installing the ND filter .. so needless to say I am very excited !!!!

I'm on the lower Michigan area and I had Chad calibrate my Sony KP-57WS520 earlier in the year and he did an outstanding job. My set has never looked so good. I HIGHLY recommend him!

I've used Chad twice in the last 3 years. I would HIGHLY recommend him! His attention to detail is superb. I would trust him like a family member. His prices are VERY good. If you need some good ISFing, give him a call!

Taxes are a little high, but you could do worse.

Cheap bump to put over Chad some more. See the first two posts in this thread.

Chad did a fine job calibratrating my Pioneer 1130 plasma, he spent 8 hours, had several problems come up, but hung in there.

Job well done Chad.

Hey all,
Chad arrived today exactly when his wife stated he would. He is currently working on the first set a Panasonic CT-34wx54 and will calibrate my Sony KD-36xs955 this afternoon. He is very nice and went right to work on my Panasonic. I will post later on the results.

Guys, I'm happy that you are happy with Chad's service, but this thread creeps right up to (and maybe crosses) the line that prohibits marketing on this forum. This forum's mission is educational and not really the place for promotional testimonials, even uncompensated ones.
I disagree. No one is being compensated for singing his praises. I promise you that Chad is not overbooked because of our praises. He has to travel most of the time to keep enough work to support himself and his wife. We are a small minority of folks. 99.9% and 9/10 of the remander of that percent of HD owners never would get their set calibrated.

for what it's worth, I bought in to all these posts and signed up. Being that I'm in OH, I figured it would be a quick stop. This was more than 6 months ago. I have since taken myself off his waiting list after several promises of a trip being scheduled to my area "soon". Happy for all those that got great service, wish I could have added my name to that list.

Yeah, add me to the list of happy customers. Chad drove to Baltimore and did my direct view after spending all day calibrating a friend's DLP. But, tired as he must have been by the point, he really went the proverbial "extra mile". I'll be calling him again when I upgrade my display.

Chad arrived a little earlier than expected and it was a good thing since he was here for 11 hours! I have had my set(Panasonic PT-56WXF95) for 7 years and finally decided to see if $$ investment could get me a few more good years. I now consider that I have a NEW TV. My set has NEVER looked so good. Chad first cleaned adjusted and refocused my lenses (Surprise, they were WAY off) This was done in the first 1 1/2 hours and I was amazed at the difference with just that. Little did I know that it was just the beginning! Chad did convergence for all three of my inputs 480i/P,720P,1080i and then corrected the color.
Chad worked the entire 11 hours he was here, he even ate in front of the set while working! He answered all my questions and explained almost everything he was doing as he did it. All I can say is that is was worth the 5 month wait for an opening for Chad. You will NOT be disappointed!

I have had my Sony xbr970 for a little over a year now. The geometry was just horrible, and the convergence was a smidge off plus the normal factory junk. Chad B. arrived at almost exactly 10:00am. He worked non-stop until 2:45. I used an AVIA disk to do my own calibrations when I purchased the TV. I am proud to say that I had my colors close but they were still far from perfect. Chad meticulously adjusted the geometry and then tore the back off the TV and applied some magnets to fix the corners. He spent about 2 1/2 hours total on just the geometry. He then adjusted the grayscale and colors for each input. Then he worked on the convergence and finished up by again tweaking the geometry for each input.
I sat and watched him for almost the entire time, and was thoroughly entertained. I asked a ton of questions and he worked and chatted about HT for most of the time. (hope I did not bug ya). The end result is just fantastic. The month+ wait worth it. It is as if I have a new and better TV! The picture now has punch but the colors are still vivid the picture is razor sharp and the blacks are even blacker than before. Luckily for me and Chad, he calibrates CRT projectors ( my next major purchase). If you are in his service area I highly recommend his work. Thanks a ton Chad!

Just wanted to say that Chad just calibrated my panny 3000 and also did the sound in my 7.1 2.37 CinemaScope theater. All I can say is AWESOME!!! He spent over 11 hours to get my audio and video perfect. He went the extra mile and even set up three aspect ratios. I can't say enough about how hard he worked he is super professional and the difference before and after is night and day. I would reccomend his services to anyone looking for the absolute bet picture and sound.

Chad did a GREAT job calibrating my Panasonic TC-P54V10 plasma set earlier this week. Highest recommendation from the picky audio/videophile.

Chad is extremely customer oriented and just a great guy to work with. The calibration added greatly to our enjoyment of the Pioneer PDP-5020HD panel. Whites are whiter, gamma levels improved and colors just all around are more accurate. Two Thumbs Up!!

I so happy to read that Chad is still in business. Rarely will you ever meet such an honest, hard working, intellegent person! I may be getting a new HDTV sometime soon. As soon as it's broken in, I'll calling Chad!

He did a great job on my new Panny 4000 projector!!!!1
post #23 of 29
I just had Chad B calibrate my Panny 4000 and my surround sound (Onkyo 706 and SVS speakers and sub). He did a great job! Just wanted to confirm what others wrote about him - VERY thorough and friendly and knowledgable. I was hesitant to spend the money to have everything calibrated, but seeing the results I highly recommend it.

I have the LG 60ld550 and a 42ld450, and found something quite quirky about the CMS (these are LCD TV's). If you think of it, would you ask Chad about this:

I'm curious as to his thoughts on this. Also, the CMS may work differently with the plasma versions.

Thanks.

Chad arrived on time to the minute to calibrate my pio 141. Even without calibration it's got a nice picture, so I was a tad dubious that it'd be worth another 375$ to get this done. Boy was I wrong - worth every penny. The colors, the sharpness, the almost 3-d quality to the image, never seen anything like it. Only wish I'd gotten this done earlier as I coulda been watching a better picture for months. Thank you Chad.

I'm still debating if I should give Chad a call I have been reading a lot about his work. Not sure but I recall he's currenly busy right now plus I live in MN. Being picky myself I'm very skeptical if I will notice a difference.

What type of display is it and how do you have the settings right now?
It's impossible for me to predict the differences, but I might be able to give you a general idea.
I'll be servicing around Ohio for the next month to month and a half, then it'll be time to hit the road again.

Chad, you need to come to Las Vegas! Calibrating my 55LH90 or 60PK750 (may not be plausible due to broken 20 point calibration) would pay for most of the trip .
