I bought a Monitor Audio RSW 12 Subwoofer yesterday on ebay. The seller is guaranteeing that the sub is working 100%. I just noticed in that the auction pictures show different characteristics than the official product photos or google pictures of the RSW 12. So here is my question, might this sub be a fake? I am new to monitor audio. Maybe it is normal for them to produce their products with different characterstics (also reason could be due to manufacturing place, wave of production, etc). Please see the pictures below.First notable difference:
The screw around the 12inch membrane are in different order in the eBay picture. You can see that the topmost screw is starting in 90 degree angle whereas the screw in the google photo are hoizontally alignment (symmetrical - left and right) :eBay picture from the seller:Google picture of the subwoofer with correct screws:Second notable difference:
It seems so that the cloth cover is different, but it is hard to tell:eBay picture from the seller:Product picture of the subwoofer from monitor audio websiteThird notable difference:
The writing, logo, and phase knob look different. I just found out that this is actually normal. Monitor audio sometime used a different logo (black versus normal one) or different knobs (white, silver or black). So that is nothing to worry about.eBay picture from the seller:Google picture of the subwoofer's back with different logo, writing and knob:
So, do you think this subwoofer is a real monitor audio RSW 12 or did i just purchase a fake ?
Any comments on that would be really helpfull !
