P.S. To the extent it matters, the KF-26's as the rear's would be replacing a pair of VS-14's.
Right now:
Fronts VF-36
Sides VF-35
Rear VS-14
Center VC-25
Proposed:
Fronts VF-36
Sides VF-35
Rear KF-26 (pair already purchased)
Center VC-25
VS-14's go into storage or maybe another room's set up.
Thanks.
I have close to the same setup as you. Below is my suggestion and I'd sell the KF-26 or cancel if you can.
My suggestion:
Fronts VF-36
Sides/Surrounds VS-14
Rear VF-35
Center VC-25
My reason is because I've tried the setup's below
Fronts VF-35
Surrounds VS-14
Center VC-25
Sub SW-350 x2
Fronts VF-35
Surrounds VF-35
Front Heights VS-14
Center VC-25
Sub SW-350 x2
On this setup, the heights were nice, but the VF-35s weren't the best for surrounds. I'm guessing because their more directional or whatever you call it. Also, they didn't surround like surround speakers should.
I'm now running this:
Fronts VF-35
Front Wides VF-35
Surrounds VS-14
Center VC-25
Sub SW-350 x2
In all of the setups I've tried, the VS-14s work better for surrounds then the Towers. Also, this is my opinion and everyone is different. But I thought they served their purpose better as surrounds.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Reference line blows the Icon away, and I already have plans to replace mine with RF 7s when I can afford them. Before my Klipsch Icon, I had Bose, when I had Bose, I thought they were the best. When I branched out and tried the Klipsch, I found out Bose is nothing close to the best speaker, in my opinion.
