Thanks Nick. I didn't realize until now the RB-81's were not that much larger (taller, a little wider) than the RB-61's.

Have you received the stands for your 81s? How are they for stability? We'll have a table diverting traffic flow away from them but a brush against them is bound to happen from time to time.

The surrounds will be out of the way of regular traffic, but have teenagers in the house so... stuff happens.

Yeah it's still under warranty , but the XXX8 line is known to fail as they have QC problems with all that line/year . It's a coating on the PCB's that was not removed . When the units heat up the coating migrates to the connectors & corrosion sets in . Onkyo has stated that all XX8's will be fixed even those outta warranty , as long as you can prove that the unit was purchased thru a authorized dealer. It's a Bit*h & a hassle tearing it all down then sending a AVR off for repair . I'm selling it as soon as I get back ..

I have not received them yet. Not too many stands available at that height for large surrounds.

A few of those Onkyo's got hot enough that you did not need a heater in the room during the winter. I have an 805 still in one system and I installed a computer fan to draw out hot air even though I have the recommended spacing around the unit. Before I installed the fan, the AVR got hot enough that you could not keep your hand on top of it. Now that I have a dedicated room, that system does not get pushed very hard.

I have fans on all three of my AVR's , I learned years ago that keeping a AVR cool really does prolong the life of them ..
BUT the XX8 line of Onkyo's ALL have this problem & my 5008 had 2 120mm fans on it from day one , connected to the back USB port , the 5008 was in open air as well .
for the amount of Coin I spent on that unit , The flagship AVR's are now looked @ with distaste by me . that's a lot of cost put into them & how they really don't last &/or stay in touch with current new tech very long anymore. has me looking at mid-level processors instead . I have a good set of power amps so all I really need now is a basic processor that will do all the newest codecs, listening modes ,DSX ,DTS , signals

That is hot. My A100 runs 15-18 hours a day and cool to the touch. In a open rack with around 1 1/2" on top for clearance

The StandOut Design Haven a/v cabinet I've posted pics of earlier in the thread has built-in cooling fans + vented glass shelving and vents at the bottom/back of the enclosures. The fans turn 'on' at about 84 degrees.... I keep a small digital thermometer in there, still, such a geek - i like to see the fans turn 'on,' when it gets too warm. The fans stay on until the cabinet cools off again, below 80 degrees. There are four fans all together.... very cool (BAD pun).

Go to the klipsch forum at klipsch.com. Several owners are active there.

Same here. I have to have preouts for my amps, but I wanted XT32 and SubEQ for my four subs. Subs are symmetrically located, so I put the front two on sub1 and the back two on sub 2. Happy with what the Denon 4311 does. Much happier with it than I was with XT on the 805.

Do not own, but have listened to an HT that used them for the front sound stage. The surrounds were La Scalas. Very nice sounding system. Clean dynamic and powerful sounding. Great choice for HT and music.

No, but they are the only speakers I would ever upgrade to. Had a chance too, with the nice pair in Montreal for sale last year, but my wife wasn't going for the large unexpected expense.

Nah ,
If I ever up-graded it be the JubScalas , I just might take that leap later down the road .
replace 2 of my CornScala that sit in the main positions & leave the 2 CornScalas I use for surrounds

I'm looking for something that can't be easily knocked over but also a design that doesn't look imposing in the room (hence the four RB61's instead of floor standing models up front).

How do you like 4 rb 61s? My fiancé doesn't want floor-standers either and I'm looking at add a set of either rb 81 or rb 61s

If I went the JubScala route, I'd always feel like I bumped up my top end at the expense of my bottom end. I think I'd have to go all out with the Jubilee.

have you seen the Jubscala with 2 bass bins that have 15" woofers in each ?
IIRC the Jubilee's have only dual 12" woofers .

Ok, so lets say you went all out and acquired a Jubilee LCR front sound stage. What would you use for the surrounds of the rest of your 7.1 system? Something else from the cinema line, but what would compliment the Jubilee's to the fullest?

We are not talking about the same thing then, a JubScala has a La Scala bass bin.

I would only swap out the L+R and keep my La scala center.

Surrounds wouldn't change. I have Heresy II surrounds now and would like to swap the single rear with a pair of KPT-250 or KPT-8001 or KPT-1201 or Crites CS-1 modified to that type of format.

here are many variations to the JubeScala as it's "Not" actually a Klipsch MFG'ed speaker
just as there are many variations of a CornScala
BUT let's not start a argument ..

Can someone point me to where I would post my experience with a speaker dealer? Not sure if this is the right place.

Thanks

I don't think every incarnation of a speaker with a K-510 or K-402 horn should be called a JubeScala...

LOL, of course I know that!

You were thinking of the MWM bass bin:

If I went jubilee, it would be a Klipsch manufactured product!

Nah I was thinking of the double bin CornScala bass section, with the K-510 &/or K-402 on top , just for the space savings that a set of direct radiators offer
that MWM bin is just too big for my room L O L ...
As for the name anything with that Big A$$ horn is going to be called a JubeScala clone by most people
