If I take them back and buy another center what speakers could I get for the rear that can be on speaker stands? In my current living space I have no choice but to put the rears on stands. I could just get the center but then I would have $300 in speakers sitting around for no reason. Thanks
You will find it difficult to find the kc25 to match and it will be expensive. This speaker will match just as well and sounds great. It will also save you money. You can get this and a pair of surrounds for the price of a kc25.
http://www.amazon.com/BIC-Acoustech-PL-26-Center-Speaker/dp/B001VIRVOI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1360689091&sr=1-1&keywords=bic+pl26

In fact, this speaker is really the same thing but in a different cabinet. The pl26 replaced this. I heard an fh6 lcr and a pl26 side by side and they sound the same. The pl26 has a nicer cabinet that is shiny but that is about the only difference. This will save you even more money.

Then you can get these for surrounds and you should have some great sound at a reasonable price.

Anyone know about the Klipsch Icon W line?
http://www.klipsch.com/icon-w-speakers

Are they high quality? I might be able to get the WF-35 and the matching surrounds and center for a great price.

They are the Best Buy speakers that came after the icon V line. They are nowhere near the reference series but are respectable. If you are getting a good price I would get them.

The KC-25 is the perfect sonic match, designed so, to parter with your new KF-26s--same aluminum tweeter and same materials in woofers, same construction, same finish--a sonic match.  Especially, if your friend can get you some off the $249 BB advertised price, you will not be disappointed. IMHO you will be pleased when mating your KF-26s to the affordable with a discount KC-25.  Then wrap it up with the Icon sonically matched bookshelves . . . If you like your KF-26s, you will love a sonically matched system.

some people are very content with mismatching the front three.  But, since you are starting over and already have your new fronts, go for the match in manufacturing of horns, tweeters, and woofers, especially in your sound stage (comprised of the fronts and centers), and with the surrounds too.  Build and match as you go.

there can sometimes be a,lot of frustration in mixing and matching (and returning and buying, often never hearingmwhatmcould have been with a sonic mismatch) to save $15 or $20.

but, there are those who love to mismatch, and, after a lot of tweaking and swapping and research, come out with a great result.

Also, a lot of money can be saved if you have the time and inclination and patience and research skills to buy used; but you take your chances when buying pre-owned with no warranty.

I buy vintage Heritage . . . But do have time to research and do most of my own repairs /upgrades when needed.

To me, IMHO, seems like you would be well served with the KC-25 new purchased at a discount.

I'm thinking I can get the 2 WF-35s, 4 WS-24s, a pair of WB14s and a WC24 for $1000 possibly. I plan on putting the WF-35s behind a false wall so nobody will ever see them unfortunately other than when I light them up prior to a movie. I have also thought about getting some Ascend Acoustics speakers instead. How would these compare?
compare with what?
Thanks again everyone. I'm going to make the swap, can't wait to hear it!!

Same place then. That will be enough for your room and I doubt you will find it cheaper. You may want to consider another sub in the future once you get it all set up. When I say another I mean 2. Not a different one.

They were offering $500 off on a different Klipsch sub also. You may want to consider the SW112 for another $100. Thats a decent size room.

We have two forum sponsors on here, authorized Klipsch dealers, who I recommend you contact  . . . Mike at ASD or Mike at AVS.  At times, they have been able to offer other forum members some great discounts which have beat other offers brought to their attention, enough so that many forum members often buy from them regularly.

I does not cost anything to ask Mike or Mike; and, unless you ask, you will never know.

Looks  like you are putting together a wonderful HT setup . . . A very exciting time!

Many of us forum members who already have Klipsch setups share the joy of another forum member, like you, hearing about and watching a plan come together.  We are excited for you!

Keep us posted, especially on the outcome!

Post Script:  look on Amazon and think possibly NIB or open box.  Some members have scored there too.

Also, think about upgrading your center to the RC62 instead of buyin a RC-52,  the RC62 is perhaps a tiny bit better matchup with the RF62s, especially better if you ever step up to RF-82s

You can only turn up an RC-52.  Sometimes, when buying towers it pays (in lack of frustration) to over buy the center, as long as you are staying with a sonic match, which the RC62.  RC52 is a fine center, but there are fewer upgrade possibilities if you ever want to upgrade to even modestly bigger fronts.

Many people I know match the RF-62s with the RS-52s for surrounds, for the same reason . . . But you also get more sound and clarity out of RS52s than you do the RS42s.  RS 42s are, fine, but might you ever upgrade, those fronts?  A Rs42"will certainly work acceptably with either a RC52 or a RC62; but the RS52 will give, you more surround sound when you want it.

And you ever upgrade significantly (perhaps going some day to used RF83s or RF7s as fronts), the Rc62 and RS52s will be a much easier sell than a RC52 or the RS42.

The above in my post is not  a strong opinion on what you should do, just some thoughts for you to juggle as you are mapping out your final outcome.

Have fun deciding on your final plan!  :-)

all the best to you.

Ah ha . . . The old KG series still serving well!  Many of us have found the HT a wonderful place to sneak back into service the older discontinued KG series speakers!

I just bet they make some bullets and breaking glass a nice little HT bonus behind your seating position . . .

I love my sneaky KGs in my HT too.  :-)

KG4s were my first Klipsch. They were beat to **** and looked like they had been drug behind a truck, but when the lights were off it didn't matter they sounded great.

Yea I just scored BIGTIME on some RS62ii's. I ordered the RS52ii's open box like new for 550.00 off of Amazon at an online authorized Klipsch dealer. The next day they emailed me back and said they were out of the RS52ii's and said they would give me the RS62ii's at no extra charge. Thats a huge score but I would say I got very lucky.

Would this be a great deal for $1000? If I pair it with my Elemental Designs A2-300 Sub should that be enough for my 18.5'x30' dedicated room?

Hello fellow Klipsch fans. I recently purchased a pair of used KLF-20s and Epic CF-3s. I'm trying to find a KV-4 center so I could try 5.1. If anyone has one they'd possibly be willing to sell please PM or email me.
I actually have a KV-4 I just replaced with a RC64II that I'm looking to sell. Where are you located?

PM sent.

Hey all. I am new to all this in regards to the setup of the home theater system and I have just a couple questions for you Klipsch owners.

My Setup:

Denon 3312 Receiver
Klipsch RF-82 ii
Klipsch RC-62 ii
Klipsch RS-52 ii

1. Where do I plug the speaker wire into the backs of my RF-82 iis? I see two separate connections (2 positive and 2 negative) on the back of the speaker?

2. Also, regarding my Klipsch RW-12D subwoofer. From looking around and getting opinions it looks like I need to use a coax digital cable (specifically a subwoofer cable) to connect my sub to my receiver. Does this sound correct? Also from the manual on my sub it appears that I only have to connect it in the low level line in (left) connection on sub. Does this sound correct to anyone else who has this receiver?

Thanks Again,

There should be a metal jumper that runs between the two sets of terminals. You need to connect to just one set of the terminals.

For the sub you need an cable with RCA connectors at both ends.

Nice set up, enjoy.

The 82s should have a copper connector on each side connecting the 2 + together and the 2 - together. If you do not see this DO NOT CONNECT! If you do see this then you can connect to either the top +- OR the bottom +-. There are 4 connections in case you want to bi wire or bi amp the speakers but you do not have to use all 4. Just make sure you are only using 1 pair of +- and that the copper connectors are secure.
Connect the sub from the sub pre out on the receiver to the left rca input on the rw with a subwoofer cable.

Are they high quality? I might be able to get the WF-35 and the matching surrounds and center for a great price.

I feel like I'm repeating what I've said a lot on other threads but that's okay. For the sale price of 270 and 170 for the towers and center, I think the Icon W line is a great value. This is biased and most people will recommend what they currently have in their setup. They've been compared with the reference line before, a WF-35 vs. a RF-82ii and the owner ended up keeping both. The reference line for his hard hitting theater and the WF-35s for his musical listening. The Klipsch horn sound is reduced compared to the RF-52s I listened to in-store. The cabinet is very pleasing to look at. I also have a RW-12D subwoofer and while the black veneer and cerametallic cone are unique and nice, the WF-35s look more in line with high end audio. Take it all with a grain of salt from this biased perspective but I don't think you can go wrong with this lineup.
These will primarily be used in my theater for TV/movie watching and some video gaming. Do you think these towers wf35, ws24 surrounds wc 24 center and a pair of wb14 for $900 will be good enough?
