I got the XPA-5 ordered yesterday and tracking numbers today ......... thanks for the advice Fastslappy!
As of an hour or so ago I have my annual CDF fire prevention chores done, and so ......... I can start tomorrow swapping out my old Harmon Kardon/Bose based HT sound system, move everything away from the wall, and get to work on hanging the the Sharp 90", making up speaker wires (I got the 12 AWG 99% pure copper speaker wire from Monoprice ..... due tomorrow) and two sets of Sewell Deadbolt Banana Plugs, so I am GTG.
However ...... I'm a bit conflicted about how to use the non-main/center channels of the XPA-5.
Should they be for the FL-82II's on wides, or the RS-62IIs on surrounds.
Both are rated at 150 RMS and 600 Peak, with the 82's sensitivity at 98 and the 62's at 97.
Anyway ....... having no hands/ears-on experience/knowledge with wides (other than what I've read about DSX via the Audyssey site) I'm inclined to use the APX-5's other 2 channels on the surrounds, and let the Onkyo 1010's amp handle the wides, as it appears to me that the amp demands for the surrounds are probably more than that for the wides. (?????)
Any thought on this?
Once again, the mains are RF-7II's, and the center is an RC-64II ...... which will obviously take up 3 of the XPA-5's channels.
Yup ........ I'm actually starting to get a bit excited about it all now .........
