Great to hear you are Happy with them biggrin.gif

I have to second what cchunter has already noted. The beauty of these Klipsch speakers is they are very efficient and can be driven by a modest amount of power. Personally, I have always believed if your going to spend some extra dollars on a system make it the speakers as they are chiefly what makes the sound. Good luck with those RF82's you'll love them.

COOL, same year as mine. They should have Type B networks in them and Alinco (round) magnet tweeters. Open them up and use a Ohm meter on all drivers(log the values) and look to see if the networks are still stock with the silver oil filled "caps".
If so call Bob Crites and order a re-cap kit if your handy with a soldering iron. They look Great........Thumbs UP.........keepers for sure. ENJOY.

There is a danger of that when giving exact SN.
Square ceramic magnet tweeters are different from mine, and from the info on Bob Crites site a good thing.. Those are stock networks, re-cap would be my first mod.. Be easy on the WPC .........really loud, your tweeters will thank you. . Did you log the Ohm values on the drivers?

BR means birch raw ,
one of my pairs was a BR , the other was a decorator model that was redone by Klipsch into a grill model .
Seems that they over made the Deco's & they didn't sell well , Klipsch took some back & converted them into Grill models

The decorator model was a fully veneered cab that was sans grill & have a veneer front with exposed horns & woofer , they were quite stunning looking .They are Now very rare

My BR set was that way from the start , I was only 20 years old when I got them & it was $500.oo bucks cheaper to buy them un-finished .

me being single & moving many times for many years for so long I never did finish them . cool.gif

He was the original owner so I assume he stained them? They look nice but could use a sand and refinish. Maybe a project over the winter smile.gif
