Just made up a gallery on the Klipsch forum. Do you think it okay to link to it in the sig of this forum like I just did? Or is that bad form?

Nice pics! I especially like the inwall A/V rack!
Thanks! It's very convenient, for sure. No more back-breaking sessions plugging something in using a mirror.
I get the most positive comments about the in-wall surround, but what I like best is the in-wall center La Scala.

I've got a KSC-C1 I bought in '99. I doubt anyone here is looking for one, but if so then send me a message. I would like some money for it (current CL price or thereabouts). If I get no bites here in a few weeks I'll probably toss it on CL.

Hello All,

Back in the market for speakers and I'm currently looking into the Klipsch Reference series. One thing has me confused and hoping someone can help me connect the dots. I've been looking at both the RB61 II and the RB 81 II and I'm confused as the why it seems like the 81 us generally less expensive than the 61??? Is the 81 being discontinued and/or is their a specific issue that brings the price down on that model? Any input you have is appreciated.

Mark

Yup, same as last year and the year before, decent deal. My KF-28's are from last year's BF BB deal - $250 each. Although, for the third year in a row, the center channel and surrounds are at the same price. Ugh!!!

Question.
I have a set of RB61 and a set of RS62

The bookshelves or a 2d set of towers would make good surrounds.

I have a set of rb61 and rs52 that I tested in your scenario, I found the rb61 work better as heights as my preamp does not apply a crossover setting to the heights. I also set my rs52 speakers as "small" with a crossover of 70. I have also read that heights should be monopole speakers and not dipole which is what the rs series are. Regardless the klipsch sound great.

Running as of 11/12/13

Klipsch RF-63 (front)
Klipsch RC-52 II (center)
Klipsch RS-52 II (surround)
Klipsch RS-52 (surround back)
Klipsch RB-61 II (front height)
Rythmik 15" sealed sub (DIY)
Polk 505 vented subwoofer
Yamaha CX-A5000 preamp
ATI AT 2007 amp
ATI AT 2004 amp
Oppo bdp-95

Wish list
4 - klipsch RS-62 II to upgrade RS-52 speakers

I'm using RF82s as surrounds
RF82s front
RC62 center and
2 X SW310 as subs

Good show! Adding those Heights & Surround Back will make it even better. Do you plan to add Wides?

Yes I have the plans to add wides.

I'm thinking of either another set of RS62 and move the RF82 to the front wide and put the RS as surrounds.

Or get another set of RF82 as the wides

Or a dream would be RF7 as fronts and move the RF82 to the wide position.

Did you end up with the Marantz as pre-amp?

The RF7 move the 82s to Wides option=WoW!
I was at Fry's earlier this week comparing the 82 and RF7. No comparison there: RF7 is ridiculously better. Yeah, it costs a lot more but well worth it. I kept hearing how good the rf7 ii is, now I know.

I Am sold on the NAD as the power amps
My wife has approved the funds (lol) I just have to decide on the Yamaha or the Marantz as the pre amp.

I will be getting the wides when I get the pre and pros so I have to decide soon. frown.gif I know I did ask before but suggestions are still being listened to smile.gif

So I'm getting the suggestion if either the rf82 or if I can afford the rf7... Yay my life will love me lol.

Agreed. The 82s are nice but they don't come close imo.
