My system has been and still is a "work in progress" for the last 6 or so years. A new speaker here, a new amp there... it never stops. And it is tough to decide what to upgrade 1st when so many things need to be better! I am currently debating on new sub, new receiver/processor or RF7II.
o yes, i started with a search for a new amp and ended up buying the klipsch speakers. since i was little i spend a lot for new stuff and i teached me to think a little more about where to put the money. comming from a denon amp with APC speakers to jamo d365 speakers to a yamaha 170watts champagne look amp with magnat tower speakers to the sony ex tower with hybrid ex200 speakers to the yamaha sub and now im at yamaha 463 amp with the sony's and yamaha sub.. been a 20 year journey into sound.. im sure the klipsch stuff is going to be a good upgrade to what i have now. the center is sounding like a old philips tv speaker and the rears blown there iron grills off eventhough there connected with screws. so i expect a huge improvement. listening to dire straits all my life and they seem to come more alive and clearer by the years. the SA-CD they made is really a must have in anyones collection.
the difference in price between the 82 and the RF7II should be noticable since there double the cost. i was thinking of saving some more for them and could get a nice price for the RF7 as well as the 83 second hand but eventually i settled for the RF82II with 62II center n rears. other company offered me RF-82II, RC62II,RS62 for 1892€ but i felt like buying the 62II rears as they seem to fit better to me. next step will be a amp for sure coz i need the 9.1 thing hehe
i can get a second hand yamaha sw1500 sub customized with a peerles woofer in it, but somehow it seem overkill for me as my sw800 allready blown a crack in the concrete wall here with 3/4 max-power fed to it.
it seems the emotiva is a good choice, looks very good and not too expensive so im really wanting this now ive seen it. my grandpa allways told me to get the basics right and set a goal and then look for making it better. he was probably right.. as allways..
