These are the specs that the RB-61II show on the Klipsch website, its almost the same as the RB-600.

RB-61II : 45Hz-24KHz ± 3dB
RB-600: 45Hz-23KHz ± 3dB

when you say I can get the RB-61 for less, do you mean less than the II or less than the RB-600?

I see the RB-61 goes down to 43.

43Hz-23kHz +/-3dB

I can't seem to find any even on eBay. I know they exist because the Klipsch site has them.

Thats the plan. I'm leaning towards a HSU VTF2 MK4.

5 KLF series are hard to beat for 5.1 HT use. You should be able to set the volume on a RC-62 to blend in with KLF-30 the RC series has a Ti tweeter. And maybe purchase Crites Ti diaphragms for the tweeters in the 30's to match the RC-62 or 62II

just a suggestion. It may take years to find a C7 but if you see one local pay the price for it, if you keep the KLF-30's. Bob Crites has KLF-30/Heresy drop in woofers that have a bit more punch to them. I always liked the twin 12" in 30 series better for music the twin 10" 20's .

YMMV on that as both are three ways and have that "Klipsch" sound to them when adjusted and placed correctly. Shame they quit making them.

I'm gonna try to find one as you suggested. Thank you very much! smile.gif

So I am still waiting for my new subs to arrive...also am thinking of going 7.2. Currently use a single rc62ii as rear surround, any opinions on using a 2nd rc62ii at the back? I dont want rs speakers, would maybe consider rb61ii or even rb81ii if price was right, I have my doubts lol.Im thinking cheapest would be another rc62ii,anyone against this idea?

I wouldn't use another center speaker for rears. Get the 61's or 81's.

I would use the same second speaker as the first for Surrounds (and/or Back speakers) and using 2 RC-62 would suffice, but not give you anything significantly over using almost any other alternative, imo...Heck, sell the RC-62, buy a pair of surrounds and spend more money on your subwoofer(s).

80% movies. I would look at two of these in that room for the budget you have.

I would say get a front firing sub if you have a concrete floor. Down firing subs dont do as well on concrete from what I've read. I would get 2 PB12 NSD's for your size room. You should be more than happy with the end result unless your a real basshead! biggrin.gif

How about the 18"-driver flat-pack DIY builds for the same price (or less)?

RW-12D Port noise? Hello all, I have had this RW-12D for about 4 months and love it but the port noise is really starting to bug. I think I have it set up pretty good but on some scenes the port noise is very irritating. Has anyone been able to eliminate this? I am actually considering getting a different sub just because of this. Would elevating it help? Maybe getting one of those subwoofer foam mats I see everyone putting their subs on?

Run it in punch mode rather than depth. It cut my port noise all together
