I think these used to sell for $1600 before they dropped to $699-799 everywhere since Panamax is closing them out. I was able to score one for $449 +$20 shipping from a dealer in texas!
Has a lot of neat control features such as outlets with delay on, individually switchable outlets over the network (with a serial port server connected to my network), track power outages and voltage with my home automation server, etc... Also has voltage regulation and even an isolation transformer for your display.
some people Pooh Pooh power conditioners as snake oil , IMO that's partly true
but they do help IF your house has power issues with dirty line power , unstable line voltage , noise caused by say a refer in the house , light switch dimmers
the good ones provide surge protection that lasts a lifetime of the unit .
(most surge protectors in those inexpensive strips have a protection component that degrades after a while to the point of being useless & no way to know when that happens )
the Snake Oil issue is the ones that cost thousands of dollars
I have a APC & am very happy with it , solved my line voltage issues (low voltage sags/drops , noise )
gave a slight Pop in PQ on display over the wall outlet
