thanks for the reply

I definately got a great deal on all my klipsch gear. I'm surprised that the prices I got are below US prices, thanks for providing those websites. Last thing I need is an Onkyo 876 receiver, Its so much cheaper in the US!

Think it would be a bad idea to purchase it on ebay?? It would suck if it got damaged during shipping. I'm not sure how the warranty would work if its purchased from the US on ebay.

I don't think you would have a warranty if you purchase on ebay, since noone on ebay is an authorized dealer that I'm aware of.

I would never buy a Klipsch speaker on ebay. no warranty ever. pay the money to get new speakers and get a 5 year warranty.

I meant the onkyo receiver.. I already have my speakers

I took a chance and bought my RC-62 on ebay. I got it for about $250 shipped. Luckily it looked brand new and worked perfectly when it showed up, but I knew the risk going in.

anyone running klipsch with harman kardon ?

I have the opportunity to buy at employees cost, which is a very considerable discount.

I've been looking at the AVS 354

I haven't, but I hear nothing but great things out of Harman Kardon/Klipsch combination owners. You may want to touch bases with the folks at the Klipsch forum.

Anybody here running a different brand, other than Klipsch, for your rear surround sound 5.1 or 7.1 setup?

I'm getting lots of conflicting information...some say stick with Klipsch, some say that these Mirage OMNICAN 5 speakers which are enclosed, are a better choice than any Klipsch that is open...

http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it...rage-omnican-5

Any opinions? The Mirage are a great prices $160/pair, where the Klipsch are like $299 each. I know Klipsch owns Mirage, etc...and they are just going to be used as "surround sound" effects...

It's most important for your front 3 speakers (left, center, right) to be matched or at least from the same series. The general consensus is that it's not as important for your surrounds to match. With the reputation the Mirage Omincans have, they'll probably do just fine. If you're not happy with them, then you probably won't be happy with any in-ceiling speakers.

Fireman,

I have a similar setup to your front 3, I have Klipsch RF-3 II's, and a KSW 12 sub, and RC-35 Center...so I'm good up front.

I appears from your pics that you are using some bookshelf hung on the wall for rears...where I'm trying to go in ceiling.

How do you think the OMNICAN 5's will compare and work in my setup?
You say you think just fine, and I'm not a true audiophile, so I doubt I even notice a TRUE difference myself...but again, the conflicting opinions bug.

I'm going to have to go listen to them in person I guess to decide!

Hi guys,

While I'm not a Klipsch owner yet, I tried out the:

RB-10
RS-10
RC-10
RPW10

Package today.

Its definitely smaller then alot of the systems mentioned here but they sound like they will work quite nicely for me.

They're bipoles. They're intended for surround use only. The particular ones I have are rated with the exact same power capabilities as my front speakers.

My personal opinion is that in-wall and in-ceiling speakers will never be as good as a traditional speaker, at least not without spending an awful lot of money. They're a compromise - they take up little or no space in your room, but as a general rule, the more out of a way a speaker is, the more you lose in sound quality and/or volume. But that doesn't mean they can't be good, and based on what I've read, I think the Omnicans are about as good as you'll get at a reasonable budget. Lots and lots of people here on the forum have them and love them. Again, alot of this is my opinion. You should definitely go listen and decide for yourself. Good luck.

#1311 BaronVH had the same question and called Klipsch.
One issue was that I needed to be able to put my 50" display on top of the actual center speaker. The customer service rep confirmed the internal bracing and actually conferred with the engineer that designed the speaker (who has his display on top of it).

Thanks Fireman Steve! I keep going back and forth on spending $160 on the Mirage OMNICAN 5's or $600 on Klipsch CDT-3650C's...I guess the listen test is the only way to solve this, but its great to hear others opinions!

I don't expect a lot out of the rear speakers, that why I guess I'm having a hard time justifying spending $600 on rears! And the more good I hear about the Mirage, the better form my budget.

Just so I'm 100% clear, when you say "rears" are you referring to surrounds in a 5.1 setup, or surround backs in a 7.1 setup, or both? If you're talking about 5.1 surrounds, be aware they see a lot of use in certain movies, particularly action movies. Just check out the lossless audio track on any good blu-ray if you don't believe me (Transformers, Resident Evil, I, Robot, or the opening scene of Hellboy II). The surround back channels in 7.1 see far less use, but I expect that to change as more and more movies are released with 7.1 audio.

i have a KLF-C7 for the center and a pair of Fortes for the fronts. im not sure if those match good. i dont have anything for the rears, room is too small. im running them with a Yamaha RX-Z1. no sub yet.

should i be matching the KLF-C7 with KLF-10, 20 or 30s?

Yes, surrounds in a 5.1 setup. I know they will see useage as you've stated, but even still...I'm on a certain budget, and not sure I can justify $600 for rears?

I imagine that the KLF-C7 matches pretty good with the Fortes, but you are correct in what speakers they were voice-matched to. I have mine paired with the KLF-20s but the 30s would be the ones I would look for if you can find them. Fwiw, the KLF-10s are a 2 way speaker and I wouldn't think they would be better than your Fortes up front--both of the other two are 3-way speakers.

so KLF-20s or KLF-30s are good to match with the KLF-C7... ill try finding them for sale. also, how do i tell if i have forte I or forte IIs? maybe ill use these for the rears (gota take down a wall to do that, my room is so small).

I'm completely understand working with a budget. I had to sell something else I had to finance my speaker upgrade. And I still think the Omnicans will do a fine job. Besides with the price difference, you could do 7.1 with the Omnicans cheaper than you could do 5.1 with the Klipsch. I never asked before, but which model of Omnicans are you looking at?

I dont think you need an amp to drive those bookshelf speakers. Unless you want to get something like the emotiva upa7

Hey guys, just thought I'd share my new set up. Over the past 6 months, I've been rebuilding my home theater. First there was the 47" Philips LCD, then came the PS3 and then a new Sony DG920 receiver. Next I got a pair of RB-3 speakers and that started me down a long path to find a RC-3II. The center channel arrived Friday and I'm all up and running. Check it out:

I originally had the PS3 and cable box on the shelf below the tv, but I had the put the RC-3II on that shelf and move the box and PS3 to the shelf below next to the receiver. The shelf system is open in the back, so I'm not concerned about heat build-up. I took my original HTIB speakers and moved them to the surround right, left and rears. Let me tell you, these new speakers are incredible.

I would get a better quality speaker and forgo the amp if you need to stay in budget.

Maybe in the future. But for now, with the room the way it is, I have to put the speakers on those leaning bookshelves. Overall, I'm please both acoustically and aesthetically with how it is.

rf-82 + rs-52 + rc62 + rw10d

Hello

Please tell me if this is good combination.

I can get this speakers for very good price in our country. Please explain me what are the sound characteristics of this speakers.

Are this speakers good for easy listening and for classic music...

I can't decide between this set and B&W 6xx serie, Monitor audio silver series. Do you think that klipsch are superior?

In our country they are much more cheaper than bw, kef q speakers

Thank you very much.

Kind regards.

Overall it's a great setup. You could do a little better on the sub, but the one you listed isn't bad. Most people agree that Klipsch is awesome for HT use, but for music listening, some people like them and some don't.

You keep mentioning "our country" but don't say what country you're in. So where are you? You can edit your profile to show your location so in the future people will know where you are when you say "our country."
