I was just looking at the specs for it listed on 6th avenue electronics, and they don't state it does Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD Master Audio. If you watch blu-rays you may want to consider the newer model, the SR5003. It does all the latest audio and has pre-outs for your amp. It's a couple hundred more $$$, but may be well worth it in the long run.

Nima, I would use the sub outs on the receiver, so that you have control from the couch. I also have the Epic CF3's and a C-7 between. Great speakers by the way.

Has anyone heard the Klipsch Palladiums? I don't see or hear much about them other than the Klipsch site.

That probably has alot to do with their $20,000/pair pricetag.

thats because they cost more than most people make in a year.

For that kind of money I better be able to drive around in 'em.

Hey guys i was looking into buying a Klipsch C-2 center. I really like its sound and can get a very good deal on it. My question is what would match better for the fronts B-2 bookshelfs or B-3 bookshelfs?
The B-2 seem to have the same woofer size but seem to have a different tweeter size?
The B-3 seem to have different woofers size but the same tweeter size?
Is that correct or if the website wrong?

Any help would be great.

given the choice and within the same family...I would go with the larger (C-3) Center...your Center choice is very important as so much information goes through them...good luck...

If they are going to be your front main speakers I would go with the larger B-3's. I have B-2's for my surrounds and they work great for that purpose. Have you considered F-2's for your front speakers? Those things play loud as hell. Even though they are more $$$ than the B-3's you wouldn't have to pay for speaker stands like you would with the bookshelves, so that narrows the price gap between the two. Either way this line of Klipsh speakers is excellent and I am extremely pleased with their performance.

I have been wanting to buy a surround sound system for my living room for a while now. The wife has given the nod so I went to Best Buy last night to look around.

I was looking at the Yamaha RX-V663 receiver. From what I have read on the forums it's pretty well liked.

Best Buy has a package deal with that receiver and Klipsch Quintet III speaker package.

My living room isn't very big, 13x17 with the back of it open into the kitchen.

I have read the front/center speakers are the most important because that is where most of the sound comes from and the surround speakers "add" to it.

I don't know if I actually need 7.1 or not. The way my living room is set up I don't know if I would get the full benefit from it or not.

The guy I spoke to at Best Buy said the Quintets can be used as front or rear speakers. Could they be used as the rear speakers in a 7.1 set up? The reason I ask is if I got the Quintets I thought about also getting a set of bookshelf front speakers or maybe even the taller ones.

I have a 50' KURO w/ a PS3 and X360.

A: In order to benefit from the 7.1 (or even 5.1 for that matter) you have to place the speakers in the correct positions. It bugs me to walk into someone's house and see the 5.1 "surround" system with all 5 speakers in the front. That's not surround sound. With the back of your living room being open to the kitchen that would mean you would have speakers just "hanging out" in that open area. If that's OK with you (or more importantly with the boss) then go for it. I would really have to see the room to get a better idea, but you would have to figure out a way to place them behind you (wall mount, speaker stands, bookshelf, etc) and also run the wires.

I have a 5.1 system and think that it sounds phenonmenal. My receiver is 7.1, so I always have the option to add 2 more speakers if I ever want to.

If you do decide to add bookshelf speakers to the Quintet system it would be ideal to make sure they are voice-matched to the Quintet's. I'm not sure if any other Klipsch speakers are, but I would guess the B-2s or B-3s might be.

Don't know if you planned on this or not, or if you have room but I would recommend the Klipsch Sub-10. Reviews that I have read stated that the Quintet system is lacking in bass.

I cant even find info on that pioneer subwoofer. Its sw1000 and it has adjustable 60, 80, 140 hz. Works for me for now.

LILJAYV10: If you have the room, get floorstanding speakers. They will fill up your space better than the Quintet III. Im running a yamaha 663 with f2's and very happy with them.

Right now I live in a trailer to give you an idea of the room layout.

I forgot to mention I looked at subs. They had the 10in and the 12inch. I thought about going with the bigger one of the two.

Hey guys I have a seperate thread explaining my situation already but i wanted to see if i coul get any advice fom this thread.

I have RF-3 floor standings for front speakers currently i was thinking about getting the Klipsch S-1 surrounds for back speakers and RC-52 for a center. I was wondering if this would all match up alright or if you guys think i should go for bookshelf speakers for backs or the refrence series cause i would be short changing my self with the synergy series. any advice would be helpfull. I did this with my Quintet III's. I'm using B-3 bookshelfs for fronts on custom stands, C-3 center, Sub-12 and the 4 Quintet III's as surrounds. It all blends well and sounds amazing.

There's certainly nothing wrong with getting the 12 over the 10, especially if you like massive amounts of bass. I have the 10in myself and that shakes my freakin' house. I don't even have it turned up all the way. But the 12 would be sweet too. So many big decisions we have to make!

So I got some "bad" news last week. Well the other part is a bit of a bummer.
So the finnish dealer didn't get my center to Finland for some reason so it will be at the end of this month before I'll get all of my gear here. And then to the "bad" news, they couldn't get any RS-52´s so I had to settle for RS-62´s

I have a question. I have the older CF 3's and am looking to upgrade my center. It currently is the C5. From what Im reading I need a KV4 or C7 to match em. How bad would it sound to get the new RC-64 ? The center is pretty much for dialogue I thought. I cant really upgrade my Epic CF 3 because they keep my dog from jumping up and ruining my filmscreen.

Have you had M&K speaker s (or know some how have them) and then swaped them out whit Klipsch speakers
if you did Why did you do it, what dose Klipsch bring to the tabel over M&K range ~SS-150/550 and so on
im most interested in the Surr channels..... the Thx 2 525 or RS-62/52 ( especaly the RS 62 )

Alright, I think I finally decided on a starter setup.

I'm going to be using a Yamaha 663 connected to two WF-34's and a Sub-12. Later down the road I'll add some WB-14's for a 5.1 system.

How's this going to work out with 70% movies and the rest music?

you should really work the matching center channel into that budget if your 70% movies

The wife shot down the tower idea for the fronts so it looks like bookshelfs it is.

I just want to make sure that I get a speaker that blends with the others.

Which center speaker comes with the Quintet speaker package?
I looked on dolby's site about speaker placement and I think I will be able to use 7.1 with no problem. One speaker is going to be out in the middle of the wall but she says that's OK.

Well i havent got any change to do that as i live i a country that dose not have a seller of this klipsch brand, so its though luck, but i would apriseate any comments one this, as i think user experience can be as good as my own ears, well i mean if a user havd like/had the M&K brand and now have the klipsch one, ill like to hear his/hers experince

From a receiver/amp standpoint, the Marantz will work fine. Of course, as efficient as the speakers are, like with any other speaker, the more clean power the better. I have a modified RF-82 with an AVR with similar power specs, and they sound fine. But am looking to getting a power amp to get the best out of them.

It's a quintet III center channel speaker with 2 of the same size speakers as the rest of the Quintets. If you go with larger front speakers you should get a matching center.

Agreed. After looking at Klipsch's website this morning it looks like i will also be going with a C-3 center, B-3's and the quintet III as support speakers w/ a 12in sub. I was also looking at the quintet SL setup too. Which would be better?

Anyone see anything wrong with this setup? Tomscave says he likes his setup.
