Bollywood on Blu-Ray?? - Page 29

Just watched 'Pyar Impossible" on BD. Dopey movie (as expected), but light-hearted fun (a la 'Neal-n-Nikki'). Nice picture quality and pretty good surround mix too (when the camera switches angles, characters that were talking on-screen can be heard softly off to the side continuing their conversation). Anyone else see this movie?

For some reason I have rented two bollywood blu-rays from Netflix so far and both failed to play on PS3.. recently two separate BD discs of Billu Barber from Netflix failed to play on PS3 any clue why?

I thought Netflix BD should play in US region PS3.

It wasn't for me

Anyone with PS3 and Netflix Hindi BDs?

I have a PS3 and also own 3 blurays from Bollywood(OSO,DDLJ, Saawariya) but haven't tried Billu barber on it. Was the disc badly scratched? Sometimes washing it with water to clean off any sludge helps..

The BDs were clean, no scratches or anything. Sometimes PS3 would say can't play this video file and would stuck there.

For all the Canadians out there, where are you getting the Bollywood blurays from?
I had the same problem. Billu Barber and Bhool Buliyan will not play on ps3. When you go to info box it shows empty disk..
Ditto here with Billu from Netflix. You get a splash screen telling you about the wonders of Blu Ray, (they seem to miss the great DRM it has though ) and the disc then gives you a blank screen.

This is on a sony blu ray player with the most recent firmware update.....

Isn't it great that the technology designed to stop real pirates does nothing but we honest folks have to wait 3 minutes for some discs to play, during which time the player is working on de and re scrambling it. For someone who rarely watches a movie twice (and hence would NOT keep a copy) this is a lot of wasted motion and electricity.

We returned Billu for a second disc, and it didn't play either. Sorry Shah Rukh, not tonight.

DCH is released in India from T-Series. But it's not the restored version coming later. Has also watermarks on the songs and no supplements.

Yes, I've been holding off for the same reason as well. I did notice the blu ray listed on Eros website so hopefully it will come soon

In case anyone is still wondering how to get Billu to work on blu ray in your PS3, I found a workaround on another site.

Apparantly, there is an authoring error. You have to somehow navigate to title 5, chapter 1 to play the movie from the start:

I just bought the Billu blu ray yesterday and had the same problem on my PS3. Don't know if the solution was posted, but if you go to the control panel (the triangle button) and go to the "Go To" option, there should be a display that pops up in the bottom right corner saying the title number, chapter, etc. I messed around and discovered that in order to play the movie from the beginning, you have to go to Title 5, Chapter 1. At that point it starts in the beginning and you can skip between chapters to get to songs or what have you. Hope this helps!

Enjoy!

Can anyone comment on the PQ of Veer? The one with Salman Khan, not Veer Zaara with Shah Rukh Kahn.
