No, they are both HD2+, however, the Sammy is a DC2, but according to Jason it has better shadow detail than the Optoma. But other than some initial problems with startups some 7100s seem to have had, it seems to be a reliable machine (I would hazard a guess the bulb will be more reliable than the HD78/79); conversely, the Sammy seems to have a fair number of issues.
The BenQ seems to have better CR, lumens, quality and lens than the HD7100 (it also has some of the SD Jason and Guitarman mentioned with the latter), but it also is ~$1,300 more and lack's horizontal shift. Lastly, both projectors have vastly different throws, so one would likely be more ideal than the other in a particular room. You might want to confirm your throw needs before even investigating further.
