Ok. So finally at about 1:30 it came. It took me only a few minutes to set it up, since I already had another unit mounted prior. My first impression was woah. It definitely has a classy feel to it, much unlike some of the tv's I've seen for more money. The remote rgldhl...I tell ya what, its not too bad considering some of the cheapos I've seen. But yes, I will most likely purchase a uni, so I can run all the other components.
And Im not using the base mount, so the silver wont affect me.
Connectivity was a breeze. Once installed onto the wall, I checked for any dead pixels on the intro Philips screen... to my excitement there weren't any. thank god! So the next to do is check the HD and SD. Not too bad on SD. But of course I knew what to expect. (This replaced another philips model LCD) HD is pretty darn good. If not incredible. I have only watched maybe 5 minutes of programming so far, and I haven't checked a dvd either...although again, I know what to expect. (Using component on all inputs.)
I am not going to try to connect my desktop machine to it. The reason is that it is a moderately maxxed-out Mac workstation that would be a nightmare to disconnect.
Quick verdict? Go get this set! I would say I have much more watching to do to give a better review, but I am very, very happy with my purchase. For the money, so far so GREAT. Here are a few shots after install... Dont pay too much attention to the pq, I dont have the steadiest hands and the screen looks WAY better in person. and BTW It is mounted on the tilt mount sold at BB.
