I am trying to find a way to get a bunch of DVD's (kids dvd that wander all over the house) onto my home network and to either xbox 360 or another media extender. I have been searching for ways to basically copy DVD's to my hard drive, but it seems that the results are less than admirable.
I ran across the VGP-XL1B2 and was wondering if anyone has experiece running this unit through a media center pc (not vista) to an xbox 360 or other media extender?
Unfortunately its not gonna happen. The Sony Disc changer will only work on a PC with its software.
If you want to stream dvd's to a 360 there are a couple ways of doing this, first by ripping the dvd's to your hdd in file mode, not ISO. and then if your running a media center 2005 pc, you'll install transcode360 which will then allow you to stream the dvd's to your 360.
Next if your not running a pc running MCE 2005, then you've got to rip the dvd and then convert it to WMV video or a pure MPEG2 video file as those are the only two video file formats the 360 will accept.
