Samsung HP-S4253 42" Plasma

Thread Starter
Yesterday was at best buy and purchased this plasma on a special pricing. For people that have this set has anyone noticed any image retintion after say a few hours of like scfi with the logo in the lower left screen or anything similiar. The other question i had was the guy at the store as well as a samsung rep ( at least thats what he said) told the that the initial brak in perion with the new samsungs are a myth and i should be able to adjust picture to my liking. And also if anyone else has this set how do you like it. Not getting the set till wed so if alot of people had issues i can return it.

Thanks

I just got the HPR4252 about a month ago now and have no issues with it at all. SD, HD and DVD all exceed my expectations as far as picture quality goes - the ONE thing I have major probs with is the cable co.'s set top box - the Explorer 3250HD - it's a piece of crapola.

I've got the 50" model. The 100 hour break-in period is most certainly NOT a myth - I don't where these guys got that from. I'd trust the manual over those guys.

I have noticed some image retention while watching shows with static logos, but these have always been temperory and very short-lived (a few minutes of viewing without the logo makes them go away). Also, I have not noticed any image retention while watching shows with transparent logos.

Personally, I love my set. SD programming is a little weak, but HD looks spectacular. Gaming with the Xbox 360 looks great as well.

Also, I suggest you read the thread related to this unit and the 50" model.
