Hi,

Long time visitor, newbie poster...

I am in the need of 2 TVs for my newly constructed house. I dont want to spend big bucks for a Plasma as these TVs are not for my main viewing areas or anything. One will be in my bedroom and the other in my kitchen.

For the kitchen.. Im looking for something on the smaller side 23" that does 720p (1366x768), needs to be wall mountable and run off just coax (no cable box or antenna). Like to keep the price around $500 or so.. but can go higher if need be.

For the bedroom.. Im looking for something thats about $1000 +/- 200ish if need be. Does 720p, wall mountable and will be running off a cable box (comcast digital, Scientific Atlantic Explorer 2000 via coax, svid or R/W/Y)

The only stores I have in my area are CompUSA, Best Buy and Circuit City. I have a 6th Avenue Electronics store about 45 minutes from my house also if need be. Also willing to buy online but would like to view the TV first.

Please help me with some ideas and thanks in advance! :D

Been lurking here and mainly keeping my eyes open and mouth shut.....trying to learn as much as possible.

For your bedroom, you might want to look at the Syntax Olevia 37HVS........it is in your price range (Online anyways......CompUSA was a couple hundred over the BuyDig.com price) and I have no complaints so far. HD looks great and I am very pleased with the SD picture quality as well. I run it with DirecTV and a Samsung HD box if that means anything.

For the money, this is a nice set to hold me over until the newer 1080P sets in the 46-52 inch range appear and are reviewed.

If you couldn't tell by a lot of my other posts, I'm a big fan of Samsung LCDs. I have a 32" which I use for Xbox360.

Check out the Samsung LN-S2341 (23") and the LN-S3241 (32"). They both have excellent contrast and quick response time. They also have built in cable tuners so you can connect them directly. You can probably get both of them for around $2K

These can be found at all of the B&M stores that you listed so you can check them out in person. Obviously buying online can save you money and tax as well.

Whats the difference between the LN-S3241, LN-S3251 and LN-S3252 available at BestBuy?

And the difference between the LN-2341 and the LNS2352WX/XAA also at BestBuy?

The 41 series is kind of the base model. It has an 8ms response time and 3,000:1 contrast. If you step up to the 51 series you can benefit from 4,000:1 contrast.

The 51 is all black and the 52 is all white. I think they are offering more options for home décor? Possibly to help with the WAF?

LN-S3241 – 3,000:1 contrast
LN-S3251 – 4,000:1 contrast
LN-S3292 – 5,000:1 contrast
LN-S3296 – 6,000:1 contrast

The LN-S4096 (40â€) and LN-S4696 (46â€) will be 1920x1080 resolution opposed to the 1366x768 found on the LN-S3296. The 96 series should be out any time now.

Is there any real benefit from 3000:1 to 4000:1?

I found the LN-S3251D and the LN-S2341W both shipped for under 2G from a 98% ebay seller.
