i saw a samsung crt rear projection at samsclub and it looked like chit compared to the dlps sets. just mho. glare screen sucks too.
No, there is no difference between i and p, since 1080 is 1080. However, there is a difference between lossless and lossy audio.
Whether it is an OBSERVABLE difference to you is a different question.
That would be something along the lines of my new (open box) SC-1222, with which I'm very happy.
We both managed to miss the great deals at Costco this summer. You may need to wait for next year for the new models, at which point prices will drop on this year's, or check the website or elsewhere for refurbs (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Shop).
Which is what I said.
And I actually think we may be talking about lossless vs. core audio, which is certainly a horse of a different color.
No, your output is HDMI to your set, right? This particular model actually has a (supposedly) very good video processor which I have turned off.
I had a Pioneer before, so set-up was a no-brainer.
But there are plenty of other threads more appropriate for this topic.
Sorry, I just didn't want to start a discussion about new receivers. Or old ones, for that matter.
Didn't realize you were still dealing with component. Good luck.
