The Samsung can be had for half the Sharp - you must be speaking strictly MSRP.
I know several people that've purchased it "LNS5797" from authorized Samsung Dealers for half the MSRP of the Sharp 57".
I'm a big fan of Sharp as I own two but I'm not insane enough to do a double markup on any TV when they are both 1080P and reports of Excellent PQ and one is selling for the price of an automobile. :)
