I bought my first Mac (a G4 Mini) less than a year ago - after many years of PCs - and I've been VERY VERY happy except for this one problem. My OSX version is 10.4.6 and I have 1G of RAM.
I bought the Plextor ConvertX and it came with EyeTV 1.8 software. It's been rock-solid stable with this version but when I tried 2.0 (then 2.01 and 2.1) it became VERY unstable. Intermittently when I would start up EyeTV I would see the controller and then I'd see the spinning beachball and then nothing - I would have to Force Quit the app.
I had a long support dialog with Elgato and I tried all the things they suggested (updating OSX, trying a new account, re-creating preferences, etc).
Has anyone else had this general problem of instability with the combination of ConvertX and EyeTV 2.x ?
