Go by whatever you wish, yes what they show on that list is only generalized. But if you buy a Elite product online and have problems with it, you may also find out the hard way about their sales policies and warranty for the Elite product line. The information is out there, it's pretty well known that Elite products are not supposed to be sold online by authorized B&M stores, you may have to search around a bit, but the info can be found. Just call up Pioneer and ask if Elite receivers sold online at Amazon are covered, and you most likely will be told a resounding no. Just look up the actual suppliers that are selling them through Amazon, which are eMotronics, and HookedOnTronics. And ask Pioneer if they are even authorized to be selling them this way and if there will be a warranty, again you will probably be told no. Actually, calling Pioneer to ask if someone is authorized to sell a products Elite or non elite, is the only sure way to know. Because their online resources for doing that, just like with most most brands, is far from complete and foolproof.
In fact pay a visit to HookedOnTronics own website, and see what they say about warranty and being authorized or not.
From HookedOnTronics own website, and also if you look up their return info at Amazon.
"All the products sold on this site are original and unaltered, and are sold at a substantial discount over regular retail and manufacturer minimum suggested prices. The low prices offered by HookedOnTronics, are in general, not authorized by many manufacturers. In those situations, where the manufacturer does not authorize HookedOnTronics to sell at the prices advertised on our website, those manufacturers may decline to honor the warranties that generally accompany the product being purchased. HookedOnTronics cannot be held responsible for the refusal of a manufacturer not to cover or honor one of their warranties. In the event a manufacturer does refuse to honor one of their warranties, please contact us and we will make every effort to help you obtain service for your item."
And here is what eMotronics says, if you look them up right on the Amazon page.
"We are not an authorized dealer on some of our products. Warranty may or may not be honored by the Manufacturer."
So, do you want to bet if they are authorized by Pioneer to be selling any Elite products? When chances are, that they are not even authorized to be selling any of the regular Pioneer non Elite line either.
