Atlantic Technology 2400/2200 7.1 system on it's way. As is a Onkyo TX-NR709
Here is a drawing of how the room is laid out -
My questions -
1- Should I rearrange the rear wall for the speakers to be placed differently? Or is that a good distance apart etc for them?
2- Is there any issue with the Rear's being that far behind the listening position?
3- Is there going to be imaging issues having the open space between me and one of the Rear's (R) or that open space at all? It removes a reflective surface but that may not be a good thing for the surround effects?
4- As you can see - at the "null" position for the LSRS - there is a window or no wall - so the (Di)Bipole speakers will be slightly in front of listening position - is this a serious issue - so much that I should move the listening position (furniture) forward so that I am in line with the "null" point of them? I have briefly seen something about them being slightly forward actually helps the imaging to the front - but don't want to separate from the rear...
5- I ordered 2400LR/C and 2200 5.0 - So I will have an additional 2200C speaker that is matched - would I be better off doing a mono rear with that and moving the two LR from rear to Front Wide? I have read briefly that at least DSX says Front Wide > Rear...
I know that is a lot of questions - I am also posting this in the Setup,Chat sub-forum - but you guys are the AT specialists, want your opinion(s)...
I have a larger version of this picture if it will make anything more clear - I can provide.
Also there are two pictures of the room - ignore current rear placement/chair location/wiring mess - it will all be redone with new system
