It's hard to judge with the split signals to all the TVs.
The Costco guy said this set has better contrast than the Sharp and he showed me by running is fingers along the Sharp screen and then the Vizio screen. He said look you can see the streaks on the Sharp but almost none on the Vizio. I was impressed but sure wasn't convinced that's how you test contrast. Another reason not to buy display TVs.
Overall a good looking set for the price. Almost plopped one into the cart, but my wife talked me into waiting and see what good news Aug 8 has to bring. I'll be the first one at the door if the deal is true.
I was thinking the same thing, but I bought one anyway. This way I can try it out during the week and if the deal is true go in for a price adjustment. I really hope that little rumor about the deal is true, because that would make this thing one hell of a bargin. The only thing bad I can see so far is that the 1600:1 contrast seems to be dynamic. I was hoping that was not the case because that makes it less competitve with lcds like the samsungs with their 4000-6000:1 dynamic contrast. But I figure the money saved on this can be put into a 1080p in a year or two when they are out and the prices have come down. Or I can get a xbox 360 with the money. hmm.... what to do, what to do? LOL
One other minor things that kinda sucks is the vizio lights up (orange when tv is off & white when it is on). I don't see a way to turn it off, but I think I can live with it as it is not really bad. Anyone know if it is possible to turn it off?
