I haven't had a lot of time to watch it today but my initial impression is that overall the A3000 is the better set.
Compared to my old A2020 it has a richer picture and is much sharper. In some situations I don't necessarily like the extra sharpness as sometimes I notice more noise than I did with the 2020. I had a couple HD football games saved on DVR from this past Saturday that I used for comparison. The mosquito noise around the players is more noticeable on the A3000. After turning the sharpness down low games look more natural like the did on my A2020 with a sharpness setting of 50.
I haven't noticed any geometry issues on my set or any other issue for that matter. There's no sign of the green blob or pink haze problems that I had on my A2020. On my A2020 in the corners blacks were sometimes more of a dark blue or purple than black. I haven't seen this either.
The menus are significantly different and the TV has a few additional features. I can't say that the new menu style is better or worse. I haven't played with all the features and settings but I have had a chance to play around with the motion enhancer. This is a nice feature and its effect is really noticeable.
SD television and DVD's from my somewhat old progressive scan Sony DVD player look better on this set than they did on my A2020. I'm not sure why this is, because I believe the A2020 and the A3000 use the same version of DRC.
The only somewhat negative thing I can say about it is that I see a lot more SSE on this set. I think that may be due to the fact that it is new and the bulb is brighter than the bulb in my old A2020 that had some hours on it.
I suppose the fact that I had a problematic A2020 may have something to do with me thinking the A3000 is significantly better PQ wise but my local Best Buy has a 60" A3000 sitting next to a 60" A2020 and while playing around with them I noticed some of the same things esp. the sharpness difference.
That's about all I can think of for now. If I notice anything else I'll post it.
