Unlikely. SonyStyle still lists the 55 as shipping on August 16th

On a small side note, do a thorough search on fotoconnection's customer ratings. I wouldn't order a candy bar from them.

Brandon ~ I couldn't tell from your pictures, but is the "SXRD" logo still embossed into the side panel of the back of the set? Thanks!

I second that...

Because I am in the market for the 55" I was excited to see that...I then sat and read through 29 pages of NEGATIVE reports about fotoconnection.com...

I would advise against it...everything that seems to be to good to be true, it usually IS...

It is great to know that the SXRD logo is now on the black frame on the front of these new SXRDs, unlike my 60" XBR1 that still says WEGA on it with the SXRD logo on the bottom next to the lamp light, sort of a after-thought "sticker".

Great pictures - Thank You, owners!

This new 60" set is actually about 2 less wide than the older SXTD 50" set, so it should better, it still looks great and is still good looking, too!

Got the call, my 60A2000 should be delivered between 12 and 2 today.

Awesome news, bill175!

We'd love to see more photos!

What's your online tracking status say for the past few days?

My tracking status at BAX Global said Out for Delivery yesterday morning, and another update this morning also says Out for Delivery. I haven't yet gotten a call from anyone. I called the BAX customer service and they said that the status is Out for Delivery, so that means I should get the set today from 11-4 MDT. I asked if I would get a call from anyone confirming the scheduled delivery and customer service said "no. Our standard delivery time window is 11-4. Since your tracking status Out for Delivery, you should expect the package to be delivered today from 11-4." I informed customer service that it said Out for Delivery yesterday, and yet I still haven't received it. Customer service said that the package should arrive today.

Does this sound right? I expected to get a phone call confirming delivery...

bill175,

Are you also able to run a 1080i deinterlace test? The more data we can get on this issue the better. Congrats on your new toy!!!
Congrats Bill175!!!...We would love to see pics of your setup, up and running!!!

Also, are you capable of running the deinterlace test?

Have fun!

One viewing angle question specific to these sets - Is a 28" stand too high if we are mostly viewing from a distance of 11-12' ? (We don't like the look of the modern stands and have found a classic wood stand at Ikea with doors to keep our 1 year old's mits out). I know the Sony stand is only 18".

Can you please post a link to your Ikea stand??? Thanks!

I cant tell you for sure, but I wouldnt think that height would be a problem, but I am sure there are others on this forum that would know most certainly...

Great question, as my wife is sold on the tv Only prob is she hates the sony stand. The stand she wants is cherry, to match all our other crap, and it stands around 26-27". I will also be in the range of 12'

Okay Bill its been two hours since your A2000 should have arrived. Where's the photos and a review?
Since for best viewing you're advised to have the "sweet spot" (center of the screen) at your seated eye level, the bigger the screen, the lower the stand should be. Sony goes with 18" for that very reason. Of course, the further back you are, the more you can stray from that guideline.

probably most of them have at least seen many 2005 SXRDs in-store all year long and may be able to compare.
Also we could have people who dropped the 2005 for some issues (see color uniformity or big ears/size constraint) and now are ready to jump back into it with an earless and (hopefully) greenblobless set

Treborg ~

My wife hated the Sony stand or any other stand that has the glass shelves and posts (which is anything you find nowadays for microdisplays). She wanted a cherrywood one and we did find this one: http://www.martinfurniture.com/PV/PV358.html

we love it!

Im on the West coast and it still hasn't arrived. I hate to tell you this, I don't have a digital camera to take some pics. What's really funny is I used to work in Calvert County!

Mine is LATE, but I called Bax Global and its "on the truck" I hope that isn't the 4th biggest lie.....Apparently my Sony hit some traffic, I just hope it isn't laying out in the middle of traffic......

I don't know if you have a costco membership, but this is the stand I am considering...

oops - I can't post a link - go to costco online and search for item #848139.

of course, I'm waiting for a LOT of reviews to come in before I order. You guys that have already ordered/received them are awesome! I'm sure we all appreciate your reviews, pics, and all...

Agreed. Hopefully more owners in hours. I should have mine Tuesday but since I use an external processor my views may not be of much value to most

For those that have already received your set, I have a small but important question: How big is the actual box that the thing is shipped in? It looks like I will probably pick mine up from Crutchfield, but with the threat of rain, I would love to put it in my Jimmy or a friend's Envoy if that would be possible. Also, I imagine that they should be transported standing up, so that limits my options again.

Yep - I took a picture of the logo on the side (and a few of the back... I didn't notice any back shots posted yet. Sorry if they were and I missed it...)
