I have a KDS-55A2000 with the green tint issue, nothing invested in it, and trying to decide whether or not to bother with trying to fix it. I watched the YouTube video, that fix would take me a day or two is my best guess but my time isn't worth much. It has a new lamp and works great other than that horrible issue.

Are you not interested in finding out what Sony would offer you for it through their exchange program?

I would like to know what Sony would offer with the exchange program but I couldn't really determine the best way to proceed with a request. For a seven year old display, not much is about right, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't accept an offer that was worth a substantial amount on a new display.

It's pretty simple. The way I did it was contact the Sony Team on Facebook, Sarah Kepler is the person to look for IMO. If you don't have FB and don't want to use it, you can contact Sony by email: sonylistens@am.sony.com or by phone: 888-993-7669 Tell them the model TV and that you have the green tint issue. They'll get back to you pretty quick, within the same day, if it's not the weekend. They'll tell you what you need to do and what offers they have available. I suggest you do a search online or in-store for which Sony model TV(s) that interest you if there was to be an exchange. Just an FYI, they don't want the old TV back, you keep it to do with what you wish. I've exchanged two Sony TV's in the last 3 years or so.

Thanks, I use Facebook daily, I have four grandchildren and another on the way and I am afraid my children cluttering up Facebook with pictures for all of the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins to see will eventually bring the internet to a standstill.

I will contact Sony by that method and see if something is still possible.

One nice feature of these sets is that they have two RF inputs, one for antenna (ATSC) and one for cable (QAM). You can scan and store the channels m(and skips) for each input and easily switch between them. I use OTA via antenna for most network programs but can also get the locals via clear QAM on TWC even though I only subscribe to cable internet. Most set today only have one RF input and you must choose either cable or antenna. Each time you change, you must re-scan so the old setting are lost.

I think I have had good luck avoiding the optical block problems so far because I have always set the power saver mode on. Slightly less brightness perhaps gives less UV on the block,
