I need an advice on how to connect AVR435 IR input to be remotely controlled from a second room. Right now my receiver is sitting in the basement, while living room has a junction box prewired with cat5. The receiver is configured as 5.1 with back surround channels assigned to drive in-wall speakers in the living room.
I was looking into inexpensive junction box infrared receiver from smarthome (about $35), but I am not sure how connection should be made. AVR435 has dedicated IR input 3.5mm connector, but no description about voltages, signals, pins, etc.
Can it be wired directly or special decoupling is needed? Is power supply is needed for sensor or AVR could provide some voltage via this connector? Is this junction box IR sensor compatible with AVR435 2nd zone remote (wavelength etc)?
