Need help finding good LCD?  

Check out the Syntax Olevia 37HVS. A great LCD and only about a grand online.

I was gonna recommend the just released Olevia 542i myself (the 540i is last gen despite it's name). I'm not even sure it's on their website yet but a couple of companies have started to show the listing and should be available shortly. It addresses many of the concerns folks had about the older 42" and should be good as a display.

Well then the Olevia 532 will definitly be in your price range :)

Westinghouse is another brand to consider.

360dude I am in the same boat you are. I can see ghosting that others can't. I started with a sony s2000 32 inch lcd and the blurring was terrible. I now have the panny 4260u. It is still not up to my standards. If I know your eye like I think I do you will have a tuff time finding a lcd that will keep up with the 360 right now. At 1300 bucks it's next to impossible. If you find one let me know.

I see no ghosting on the 32w6 westinghouse, but maybe your eyes would?

Modern lcds don't really ghost any more but rather blur the image on games to my eyes. I don't know if this is the "sample hold effect" or response times, but the image is not as sharp on movement as my Sony 34 inch HD. Games that move at 60 fps on the 360 such as Call of Duty and Tony Hawk show this blur but it's not as bad on 30 fps games.

I have the Olevia 532 and see no ghosting whatsoever, even on games like Burnout Revenge and Oblivion. The 532H has a response time of 8ms. The 360 is the reason I bought the Olevia. All I see is amazing high definition. I too see ghosting and pixelation where others can't, which is the reason I did not by the Sony S2000. The Samsung LNS3251D with game mode turned on also has no ghosting and can be had be had within your price range, but the Olevia is $500 cheaper! Go to hhgregg with your 360 and give the Olevia a try, or if your feeling rich, the Samsung which looks marginally better.

I'm definitely looking forward to this one. Kind of concerns me that so far Olevia hasn't done such a great job getting info out there about this set though. I mean, some of the other 3 and 5 series models are already in stores even, and none of them are on their site at all. We still have no clue when the 542i will actually ship.
