You can use Media Monkey to rip CDs to FLAC. It is really easy, and can be found here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/
I'm not sure if the free version does FLAC, so you might have to spend a few dollars.
If you want something for free that probably does a better job from an accuracy standpoint, you can try Exact Audio Copy (this is what I use 99% of the time). It can be found here:http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
You can find a tutorials for using it here.http://www.teqnilogik.com/tutorials/eac.shtmlhttp://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/...howtopic=30959
It can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you have it set up, you don't need to fiddle with it any more.
So once you've ripped your CDs to FLAC, you just need to drag and drop them into the Opus Import folder on your computer network. Assuming you have a network... I'm not sure if you can copy them to an external drive, and then plug it into the Opus.
As far as an external drive goes, anything USB 2.0 should work, like this:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1183160722718
You will have to plug it into your computer and format it to FAT32 first (which will take a while). Usually it is just a matter of plugging it into the PC, the PC "see" and installs it, and then you right click on the drive in Windows Explorer and pick format. Its a little different for XP, Vista, etc.
The reason you have to format it in FAT32 is that Linux (which is what the Opus runs) doesn't play well with the NTFS file system Microsoft uses. The two can work, but the Opus isn't set up to handle the NTFS file system yet.
Hope that helps.
