That's when things got ugly. They told me they weren't allowed to hook up HD Tivos to the 5lnb dish because it was D*'s rule. He even told me the HD Tivo wouldn't work with the new wiring (which sounded like BS, but I'm no wire expert). He said it's some wire set up for more powerful audio and video or some nonsense (Anybody see a difference in wiring with the new setup?)
This is complete nonsense; I have three generations of DVRs (Sony SA-T60, Hughes HR10, & D* HR20) hooked to my AT9, and they all work perfectly. If you have more than four tuners (two per DVR), you will need the the Zinwell WB68 broadband multiswitch - mine was added to my work order when I asked for it (and, like the Dish, it was free). With the WB68, the four cables from the AT9 can provide signal to up to eight tuners. D* gave me no trouble whatsoever about keeping my older TiVos online.
So I guess I can't complain too much. I'll let you guys know how the HR20 compares with the 10-250. They aren't taking my Tivo, that's for sure. That's mine, I paid for it.
So it seems like if you move and you have a hd tivo, they will set you up with a free HR20 (so far it seems free, I'll raise hell if it isn't)
Do complain - they will activate your HR10 & give you free programing for your trouble, if you yell loudly enugh.
