MM did you get the Daniel Smith Interference Silver yet?
Not yet, but I have got my 32 gallon Compressor in the shop getting a "tune Up"and I'm agressively doing my Physical Threrapy to regain use of my right hand/arm/shoulder. As a "lefty", painting becpmes a lot more a "chore""than a pleasure.

I'm hoping that by this weekend I'll be squirtin', or very close to it. keep your fingers crossed. You'll have to....it hurts when I try. ;)

Only 7 more days to the 8th!! Updates?

pb_maxxx agreed to ship me a sample to do a comparison with DaLite HP and Matte White screens. I PM'd him my shipping information but have not heard a word about it since. You can draw your own conclusions about this. I prefer to think that he has just not gotten around to send it yet.

Lawguy, I'd definitely be interested in that comparison. Please keep us posted.

Only 5 more days  Wonder what's going on.

Maybe if MM and pb_maxxx are not willing or able to explain Black Flame here they would be interested in commenting on the very similar "DeltaMaxx DIY Screen Paint" thread where a ghost mix has been resurrected and a group effort will be made to simplify and refine the mix for use by beginners and intermediate level DIY Screen painters.

The first big hurtle for us to overcome is finding a Delta brand green color ingredient. Just that would be a huge help to the DIY cause.

They may not be able to discuss it because forum rules don't allow the discussion or promotion of commercial products in the DIY forums... discussion from the standpoint of the company itself, not DIY members doing testing or experiments.

If that's the case, this thread is effectively dead. That's not MM or any of their fault, it's just the forum rules. They will be able to offer advice on painting and spraying techniques, as well as tips to help DIYers improve their skills, and that would be awesome for a commercial company to do something like that, but they really can't answer any questions about their products.

wbassett, that's too bad because all of my pent up excitement was for nothing. Man, I could have been watching the grass grow and the leaves fall off the trees. Arggghhh.......

On a more serious note, I hope that a simple comparison of various screens would not violate the rules. I'm not a mod, so I can't make that decision.

Maybe they will answer you in here, I was thinking maybe this is the reason why... if it is though it probably should be said that's the reason.

I don't think there is anything against us doing screen comparisons... that's more along the line of DIY research, I mean without comparing a DIY screen to a professional screen there is really no way to gage if the DIY screen is worth the effort...

I have done a few comparisons but was always criticized for doing so. That's why we were hoping for a comparsion under more controlled situations. Anyways, it is what it is.

I don't know, just guessing maybe that's why...

Thats because you are big time promoter of CG111, poluting every thread with posts about YOUR mix. You are bias, so others complain. ;)

That darn second personality of mine. I gotta tell the Don King inside of me to stop this blatant promotion. :D

Aren't we over the deadline?
Are we supposed to start clapping or should we hold our breath now?

LOL! I just realized what day it is.

I just recovered from a paint fume induced trance. While in the trance state one of the ancients communicated with me from beyond the "Gone Commercial Barrier". According to this entity from a bygone era, the revised formula was destroyed by the evil forces of capitalism and he was stripped of all his Light Bending Alchemists powers. Any traces of the formula have been destroyed and no explanations were left to be found.

He said that he was still able to observe the activities in our time and we were stumbling around in the right general direction. He said that in time our efforts will pay off and we will achieve true enlightenment. In fact some of us may also ascend beyond the barrier.

Either that or he said something about me watching too much Stargate. :D

Either way the information we were hoping for is lost and we may as well find our own way.

So are the comparisons I performed acceptable now? The whole point was that Him do the comparison to ensure the correct practices, recipes and application were adhered to. Oh well, Me not holding my breath anymore.

So he's gone Jimbra on us? I'm certainly disillusioned. :(

Tiddler, did you really communicate with the Great Black Fame, or are you now pulling MY leg?

From what I understand pb_maxxx is no longer in a position to participate in the development of the DIY version of Black Flame. Comparisons will no doubt be made between the commercial products and other commercial products.

I suppose there is nothing stopping one of us from forking out $100 and making up a sample. It was confirmed that Light Fusion requires spraying and probably best done under factory controlled conditions.

My best hope is that MississippiMan will find the time to provide the wall prep chapter in the Beginner's Guide.

As far as Black Flame goes it was suggested we take what we can from it and develop our own DIY version under the DeltaMoon name. The original creator has his hands tied by the commercialization and the affliction of twins. He said we are on our own.

So by all means don't be holding your breath.

I do hope out of the RGB Paint Experiments will come a level of understanding and a desire to take a look at the DeltaMoon Development thread and help simplify it for the rolling masses.

I also hope the knowledge that is being developed now will lead to some cutting edge sprayable advanced DIY Screens too.

I have a copy of the formulas from about 6 months ago ( Think it was about that time, might be older) if that would help... I was getting ready to spray a mirror and have the pigments for it also... Just have not had any time :(

The DIY Black Flame Screen Paint Mix is dead! But through the use of recently unearthed "Ancients" technology, it has been reincarnated and dubbed "DeltaMoon".

The last full posting of the Black Flame Light Fusion formula and application notes is contained in the DeltaMoon thread.

The craetors of Black Flame are unable to continue discussion of the mix since there is a commercial version that uses completely different ingredients. Any further discussion of the mix formerly known as Black Flame should continue on the DeltaMoon thread.

Your're right BoomerBrian. This thread and teh BF thread should be closed. No use talking about things that can't be talked about.
