Yes, I had heard silver was still going to be available in Europe.
As for the model designation, I should have said 2307ci is the only one is the USA, AFAIK.
Sometimes, I forget that non-USA people read this forum.

I know I checked with a 3rd dealer today.

Even though he is advertising them on his website - he was
clueless as to when they will arrive. He didn't even want to
guess.

I'm sure it will be AFTER CEDIA.

Denon has the OWNERS manual on their website. They just posted
it today. Maybe Availability is getting close.

Out of three dealers I talked to LIVE - None would take an order
as yet!

Does anybody know volume levels can be set differently for different input source?
For example, can I set 'default volume' for "CD" to -30dB and "DVD" to -10dB. When I switch from CD to DVD, the volume will auto adjust to -10dB?

Just so you know, DENON does not recognize warranties on their products bought from unauthorized retailers. This place is not on their list. Just an FYI, if you didn't already know.

I notice that the remote doesn't seem to have a button to switch between A/B front speakers. The remote for the 2807 does, so would the IR code for this work on the 2307CI?

I am aware of Denon's Policies. WHICH is ILLEGAL.

ALSO -

As someone who has been designing electronic equipment that is much
more complex than any of these consumer electronics - I don't believe
in warranties. This is my FIRST piece of Denon equipment - if it needs
fixing - PERIOD - it will be my last piece of Denon equipment. At this
price it is 100% Disposable Electronics. It is also OBSOLETE the day
it Arrives. It still has no new decoders for HD DVDs. I will junk this
as soon as AVR receivers have the new decoders.

I ordered mine yesterday from Crutchfield. First I called to see if they had it in stock, they had 15. minus -1 now.

CONGRATULATIONS - now the RACE is ON to see who gets

I ordered my 2307CI Yesterday because I don't see much value in
any of the other Denon AVRs from the 2307CI on UP - Period.

When AVRs start supporting TrueHD and other HD DVD audio formats
- then I will look at them and UPGRADE from the 2307CI. Until that
time - WHY INVEST more than you need to in something that will
likely be obsolete in 6-9 months. For me - money is not the issue.
But why waste it on any device that is not going to be in your theater
for 5 years or more. I have been a LONG-TIME Lexicon owner. Even
their top-of-the-line unit still does not support the new HD Codecs
at $12,000. I need 5.1 analog inputs to listen to TrueHD from my
Toshiba HDA1. My Lexicon does not support discrete analog inputs.
Therefore I see the 2307CI as an inexpensive way to get TrueHD
up and running and I'll move the 2307CI into some other room
when something better comes along - aka a disposable AVR.

I'm not sure what that means. But if you need something - then
I suggest the 2307CI is an inexpensive unit you can enjoy now
and UPGRADE later - which we will all have to do.

You dont need to use the analogue 5.1 for TrueHD. You can send the signal via HDMI.

Wow!!! Just got email from Crutchfield with tracking#, it's on it's way. I will post pictures when I get it.

I wasn't thinking of replacing my current AVR (onkyo-797), until the new receivers where able to suport true HD and dtsHD. Then again wasn't planning of replacing my Denon-2910 until 2nd or 3rd generation HDDVD players.
I think the 2307ci will be sufficient for the next 2-3 years and will go well with my BA7200 amp.

I would personally wait to see what the new Marantz SR-5001 can do. If I had no budget, choices would be plentiful. From your list, I still would go with the 2807. However, according to most on these boards, the Panasonic XR57 is the best buy. All depends on what you need. Good luck!

Does anyone have any idea whether the 2307ci will suffer from the same problem as the 2807 as far as not being able to disply the OSD via HDMI? Maybe those that receive their units first can inform the rest of us. Thanks.

The manual says it can - but none of us have one yet [GRIN]!

STILL it will only display OSD in 480i - which I think is a BIG
NO NO anyway.

Does the 2307CI or 2807 have any kind of network interface capability? Can I run MP3's from my PC through them like the Yamahas can?

Ordered my 2307CI from Crutchfield today and it already shipped. Will do nicely as a replacement for my 8yr or so old Sony. Now I get to rewire/reorganize everything.

BTW: How loud are these test tones for the auto setup and how long do they last? Just trying to get a feel for when I should do the setup.

I did order a 2307CI from a Different Web Seller and I waited 2 days to see
if there was any shipment info. TODAY I called them and asked - WHEN???

They said they HAD NONE and Didn't know WHEN! OBVIOUSLY I cancelled
the order immediately.

I called all the authorized Denon Distributors - ONLY Crutchfield had some.
They had TWO left - I ordered one from them.

I ordered the 2307CI from Cruthfields on Sept 11. Arrived today via thier "free shipping"!!!! They rule. Will let you all know how it is once I get it set up.
