looking for best lcd for the money

Haven't posted since I was researching for my 37inch philips LCD. It has been a great hdtv thus far (knock on wood) and I wanted to thank the board for all the help in selecting it.

Looking to get a hdtv for my folks. Here are the stats required:

budget: apprx 2K
size: opening in their entertainment center is 44inches
LCD preferred

any suggestions? thx

Since you say, "probably LCD", I would suggest looking at the following. Westinghouse, Vizio 42" and throw in the Vizio 42" plasma. Even the Vizio 50" plasma will fall into your budget.

Samsung LN-S4041. Its a 40" but it will fit the entertainment center and budget.

The 37" LG LCD will fit.

There are a number of ways you could go. I'd take a look at the Sharp LC37D40U. I've always liked the 37" model and we'll probably get one here in a few months. You could really look at any of the top 5 brands and stay around the 37" (maybe 40") LCDs and not go wrong. Happy Hunting.

Westinghouse 1080p 42" should fit your needs and offer full 1920x1080 over 4 inputs!
