Best 37" picture - LCD v Plasma- room restrictions enclosed

Due to room layout, the signifigant other, and other issues I am forgoing my 50"-55" Fujitsu- I have a media opening that is exactly 37" wide- thus I have been looking at the Sharp 90u 37" 1080p set and the 37" panny plasma.

I have spent a lot of time looking at these at Magnolia, there pretty darn close....


I think the 40u series from Sharp has a slightly better picture but that set is over my width restrictions...

Money is not the issue, I do have a lot of ambient light, and I won't be hooking a PC to the TV... Mostly HD sports, kids SD content, and the occasional movie.

am I overlooking any other options.... I do want to future proof as much as possible and get the best damn display I can! The good news is now I have more $$$ for my 2 channel audio :)

Thoughts???

Nothing to add, other than i'm in the same situation.I'm looking at those two as well as the LG 37lc2d and the sharp40u also.Interested in peoples opinions.

I haven't seen the Sharp, but I have the 37PX60U in my bedroom. It has a beautiful HD and SD picture!!! 'Nuff said!

Simular situation for a friend of mine, he asked me to do a little research, I've pretty much decided on the LG 37lc2d aswell. Although it only has 1 HDMI input. He's not worried about future proofing though.

At that size I would definitely go with the panny plasma industrial model. And depending on your viewing distance you could even go with the ED set (but don't want to open up that big debate again!). I don't believe you can get a Sharp or other top tier LCD that size in that price range, though I may be wrong.

I would say that, if you are satisfied with it's black level and overall picture, then why not?

But if you truly want the best overall display at that size, I'd go with the Panny plasma.
