Just ordered my 836 v's. I thought waiting for battlefield 3 was painful. Can't wait....

Congrats on the acquisition of the 836v's. I hope they are nicer to your ears. How did it go with selling your Energy Veritas?? Any Luck?

I completely forgot that was coming out this AM! Let me know what you impressions of BF3 are. I was thinking of just waiting for MW3 but I am not sure.

I did sell the Energy's at a very discounted price but they had to go. I went to Overture in Delaware and did an A/B comparison between B&W CM9s and the 836's. No disrespect to B&W's admirers but they were simply dead compared to the 836's. They were very detailed but warm. They great thing about the speakers were, they were connected to an Integra DTR 50.3 which has the same audio and amplifier components as my 50.2. Can't wait! Thanks for all of your help, Focal lovers


BF3 is awesome, my eyes are blood shot red and my wife is shaking her head in shame, lol.

Have any of you guys compared the Focal 807v's to any b&w speakers? I am on the fence about purchasing the b&w 685's and have been told that Focal's might be better suited to my taist. I am looking for a very revealing speaker with a great top end. My budget is $1,500.00 and below. These will be used soley for music as I already have a great ht system.

When I went to demo the B&W's vs Focal, Focal, hands down, was in a different class. It was explained that Focal out classes B&W in their 6,7 and 800 series. I will repeat what everyone else already says: listen for yourself if you have the chance. Another comforting idea is that everything is done in house with Focal. Good luck and good listening...

Guys, A couple of days ago i got a brand new CC700V center to complete my 3.1 setup. I already have Chorus 706V for fronts. The thing is.. when listening to multichannel audio and movies, i get the felling that the voices come through muffled or not clear enough through the center channel. as if the quality of the CC700V is not on par with the 706V. Anybody else with the same feeling? I tried different recordings and i´m not satisfied with the performance of the speaker.. Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!

The center should be matched to the fronts, so I suspect it's a placement issue rather than a speaker issue. Have you got the center angled toward the listener? Have you rerun whatever EQ package your receiver uses?

I have the CC800. These speakers need a few hours of playing time to sound their best.

Also, have you verified that you do not have the polarity reversed on the speaker connections?

@bfreedma the center channel is in the same place where i had my Monitor Audio BR Center which sounded fine. it´s not aimed at the listening position, actuallly sits in a open cabinet below my lcd screen. I ran Audyssey MulteqXT several times. What´s strange is that whith Audyssey engaged the receiver has to make a lot of adjustments to the Eq curve. both in high and low frequencies. i´m talking big changes -6db -4.5db + 3db +4db not just small +0.5db adjustments...

@MUDCAT45 i´m pretty sure that polarity is set OK. but i´ll doublecheck..

MUDCAT45 believe it or not i ended returning the 800 combo without actually listening to the CC800. The acrylic finish on the 800 series drove me crazy. I prefered the matte finish of the 700, although sonically i preferred the 800 series (not a night and day difference).

What about the acrylic that was so bad that it made you return it? When I think of acrylic, I think of a woman's finger nail...

According to Focal "...For the first time, these speakers employ a covering in acrylic, which the mirror luster gives a depth in the black finish never seen before on a speaker, not even with a true piano black lacquer.."

What they omit to mention is that this acrylic is susceptible to micro scratches and scuffs, no matter how gently you clean them with the softest of microfiber cloths.. I live in an apartment where dust is a problem.. so i need to dust off my equipment on almost a daily basis. As soon as i cleaned the speaker for the first time with the included cloth it started showing very tiny micro scratches... call me anal, but i like to keep my audio equipment in mint condition.. I can´t imagine what they would look like 6 months / 1 year from now..

That´s what bothered me of the speakers and made me exchange them.

that's what I was thinking too. There has to be a way to clean it without destroying the finish. Do dealers have to order the speakers from the main warehouse in France? I ordered a pair on the 25th and they still haven't arrived yet.

My dealer told me the Focals ship from Canada into the U.S.

However, I noticed that Audio Plus Services seems to be a U.S. distributor based in NY. http://www.audioplusservices.com/

I am still going back and forth trying to decide between the 816 and 826. Just need to sell the rest of my current speakers and it's on...

Actually, ran across a mint pair of 816s localy but the seller misrepresented them in the ad. Said they were ebony while in fact they were the moka color. The price is very good though. Anyone local in socal should check ebay for them...

I absolutely love my 826W Limited Editions. I was considering them or getting into the electra series, but after speaking with the rep it sounds like the 826W's are the best value in the electra and chorus lines.

Diamond White finish is amazing btw.
