LCD's with one to one

post #1 of 13

Which lcd's on the market let a pc use all pixels on either dvi or vga and have a one to one pixel ratio?

So far we have:

================================
1:1
================================

Samsung 4095D - 1:1 thru VGA / NOT capable of 1080p thru HDMI/DVI
Sony XBR2/3 - 1:1 thru VGA and HDMI @ 1080p
Sceptre X42GV-Naga 42" (port unknown)
Westinghouse LVM-42W2 42" (port unknown)
Westinghouse LVM-47W1 47" (port unknown)
Eyefi 42 and 47 (Maybe the westinghouse? 47 isn't a common size) (port unknown)

================================
Maybe 1:1
================================

New Philips at BBY (clear on HDMI, too large though, VGA not available to try) (port unknown)
Syntax Olevia models (port unknown)
Sharp AQUOS LC-37D90U 37" (port unknown)
JVC LT-40FN97 40" (port unknown)

I'm not sure what the 1:1 means. Is this only a concern if I'm using an LCD as a computer monitor

Kind of. It means that one pixel on something digital represents one pixel on the screen. Plasma's and dlps have this too. but yes its most noticable with computers as the text on the screen won't look blury.

add these to the 1:1 list via HDMI/DVI:
Sceptre X42GV-Naga 42"
Westinghouse LVM-42W2 42"
Westinghouse LVM-47W1 47"

These might also, but I haven't found anything definitive:
Sharp AQUOS LC-37D90U 37"
JVC LT-40FN97 40"

The new Syntax Olevia models are supposed to have 1:1 as well. Details on the sets are still kind of scarce though. Will know more when availability is better.

Also can add Eyefi 42 and 47 LCD's. Both do 1:1.

I tested 2 philips today, worked on hdmi but were over sized (text was clear but borders of screen were of) so until i can get the vga adapter well say maybe. I'll redo my first post updated with the for sures and the maybes for reference. Maybe plasmas could get involved too...

Make sure to specify if it can do 1:1 off of HDMI/DVI or only VGA. Some sets can do one, but not the other.

Note taken. I'll be taking my macbook pro in as soon as I get done packing for college and I'll test hdmi, dvi, and vga. I know the 50" pioneer elite 1080p had 1:1, written on a specific hdmi port even.

Holy crap- are you serious? 5C-less firewire output on a TV..... if you can back up this statement, you may have just swayed by decision from an LG or Sammie to go to this.
