It is price vs. objective measurement, not necessarily subjective performance.
B&W cost more, but measure "less".
The B&W 800/802 aesthetic is also very polarizing - you either utterly love the aesthetic (which I do) or you hate it.
And the fact that some B&W reps are conceited pompous jerks does not help.
KEF Reference have more respect because they measure better overall than both B&W and Revel, yet KEF cost less than both (& other brands in the same class).
But I bet KEF would have a lot more respect if they used Beryllium tweeter and Titanium woofers, instead of Titanium tweeters and paper woofers.
Revel Ultima measure great, although not as great as KEF Ref, but Revel have the Beryllium tweeter, Titanium midrange, and Titanium woofers.
