In The Electric Mist
This is a new film from last year that probably few have heard of. It is the movie adaption of James Lee Burke's book In the Electric Mist With Confederate Soliders.
It has a very solid cast and stars Tommy Lee Jones as Burke's Louisania Detective Dave Robicheaux. For anyone who is an avid reader of Burke's novels, this is a real treat to once again have one adapted to the big screen. The only other one of his DR novels that has was the 1996 movie; Heavens Prisoners staring Alec Baldwin as DR (and highly recommended).
Like the previous effort, the movie stays true to the book with no embellishments. Just a gritty, character driven crime drama.
The movie is presented in 2.35 AR and was shot using the Panavision anamorphic film process. The cinematography captures that area of LA with all it's swamps, forests and backswoods locations very well.
It is available on DVD, BD amd Netflix streaming.
I highly recommend it. And I hope that other movies are adapted from Burke's DR series.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910905/
