Do you really think the BB calibration is free, and not included in what ever price BB agreed to for your display?
If you look at the first two posts in this thread there are a lot of owner reports about having their displays calibrated. I've included every owner's report I've read that also identified the calibrator. If my memory is any good at all, you won't find any reports from owners that had BB calibrate their displays. So far I haven't been able to find any reports about BB calibrations.
My take on it is that BB offers it free to close sales so that's probably what it's worth. On the other hand, it's unlikely that they would damage your display.
Given the cost of an Elite 70" display, I'd want to get the most out of my new display. I'd want one of the well known calibrators that are active here at AVS to calibrate it.
