Any of you guys play NFS:MW?

I bought it at launch and never opened it.....I finally just cracked the cello last week and began to play it, and I'm actually really enjoying it.

But now I'm up to Rival #5 on the Black List, and the game is getting a bit stupid..as in stupid hard.

We all know about EA's rubber-band AI in the NFS games....but it can get a little absurd in this game. During one rival race they crashed....at the second to last timestamp the rival was 28 seconds behind me. 28 seconds.

When I crossed the finish line, it was a neck in neck race. :P
That was about 15 seconds after the 2nd to last timestamp came up.

Anyhow....all of a sudden now I can't seem to win any races. I have a couple of maxxed out cars and I've adjusted the performance on them....and it seems every race now has at least one car that just blows me away. And it could be some crappy Cobalt SS that smokes my Porche or Supra. :P

Grrrr

Anyhow.....here's the question: Does anyone have any tips for getting the most out of pursuits to rack up bounty? Seems to me that when I need to rack up bounty, I can't NOT escape from the cops, even if I turn around to lure them back I inevitably wind up getting away.

But then when I'm running for my life, I can't get away at ALL....UGH.

Is this the point where the game goes from Fun to Frustrating? I dont know if I'm even going to bother with the last few Rivals, if I have to outrun the cops for 30 minutes at a time without getting busted or something, its just not worth it to me.

PS: Does this game have any online component? Anyone here ever play it? is it any good?

Do you own a Evo? If not get that and use it to do all the bounty stuff. Acceleration in that car from stop is great. To rack up bounty faster use a higher level wanted car to initiate the pursuit. Also get the Lambo Gallardo max it out and use that for races. NFS: MW is not hard at all. Just know your surroundings and use difficult shortcuts( for them not you) when you are ready to end a pursuit.

I love the game. I got near the end on my old Xbox, now I'm redoing it all over again on my 360. I find using the nitro strategically makes a difference, as does having all the nitro upgrades. It doesn't hurt to slam your opponent into traffic or brick walls every once in a while, but that's risky...

I don't know, I occasionally find some challenges hard, but once I finish them I see that there was something special I needed to do to win. Look on the bright side, the more times you try and fail, the better you'll be getting...

Actually to get your bounty up i would use the Bus Stop Glitch. Sometimes when you have a hard time getting your bounty up its a good idea to use it.

You can read about it on the Xbox forums

And here is the video

Hope that helps.

Online is ok. There is no cops or traffic though and if I remember correctly it is only 8 racers so not great IMO. The single player game was excellent I thought I enjoyed it alot.

Yeah, I didn't win that guy's EVO when I raced him, nor did I just win the corvette..and I didn't feel like going back to get it and re-do the races...I had had enough Since the Gallardo is already maxxed out (nearly) and his Corvette isn't something I really cared about...this was like..#5 on the list..whoever he was.

I've been using the mustang I won as my Bounty car, because its pretty easy to smash just about anything into the wall with it....its just its kinda slow so on big pursuits its a little scary but its also a rolling tank.

I hit level 4 and I'm like "ooohh crap"

Hadn't thought of the EVO or the Suburu....may consider selling my extras off and getting one of those!

I have a question. I beat RAZOR in all the races but my 360 froze right before PURSUIT RACE. I rebooted and it seems that I have to play those races again in order to do the last PURSUIT getaway. In my 360 Dashboard the Achievement for beating RAZOR is unlocked but in NFS MS Career it is not.

What happens when you pass the PURSUIT RACE with Razor's M3? You get to keep the car? If I lose the pursuit race do I have to play all 4 races again in order to do the pursuit race again?

All cars seem the same to when maxed out? They just sound a bit different and look different but they all drive and handle the same to me.

i really enjoyed it; in fact i'm gonna put it in right now and start over

the gallardo indeed was the first car you get that jumps you up to the final level of greatness

also, get "performance" markers from folks and save them for one car

at the end i had the aston martin from ronnie, which i turned into totally stock, black paint, and was my cop-car; anyone see the italian job? i.e. stratham's road-race accross the country is what i was going for

the most high end car in the shop (porshe ..........something) was my final super-car, black with white stripes

my favorite paint job by far was dark red dodge viper, with black racing stripes (number2) beautiful, especially with the concave roof

and paying $15 for the game didn't hurt either

bestbuy had the 4platinum titles for $20, and with a special giftcard-coupon trick they were $15 for pgr3, nfsMW, pd0, and kameo

in fact i need to start playing some of those again

thanks for the thread!

and yeah, this game was much better than i expected; monotonous, but fun, and gets constantly harder; just wish there was a bit more environment interaction and MORE HILARIOUS CUTSCENES

btw: wow, i never found it very hard at all; 90% of races i won first time; i'd say

1. use the time-stop a lot (X button i think?)
2. nitrous is the most important mod for every car
3. make your first try when you beat a blacklist for their pinkslip; if you don't get it, you can decide how much you want the car; if not that much, get performance upgrade
4. TWEAK your performance settings (or whatever they're called); i fiddled a lot and in the end i only really did two things: dropped the car to the ground, or nearly, and increased teh power of nitrous (less length, more power)

good luck, don't give up, it does get progressively harder but more fun as well; take your time and savor it, it takes a lot of hours to finish

oh, this is a good tip from the game:

hit cars in the back, not the front(engine); they are lighter and you'll go through

you want me to tell you the ending? no way; it's much to fun. good luck

well, the pursuit after you get your BMW back is the ENDING of the game, it's difficult, you have to do a lot of driving, and that's all i'm going to say; but just do it

the ending sucks. I drive a max'ed out Porche and beat Razor. I get caught 2 minutes into the final final cop-ditch(damn tire spikes). The good thing? I got the Razor achievement. Now I can get rid of this EA junk.
Oh BTW, going online with any EA game automatically hands over your personnel information including your credit card information on file with Microsoft, over to EA. So not only is EA having your email address, gamertag, home address, tel. numbers, but also your credit card info! You know, i work for a defense contractor and every 2-3 months we get word that 'so-and-so' company 'lost' a computer with our 'personnel information'...

back to topic, no, I'm not playing NFSMW anymore

I haven't fired it up in months...got the Dodge Viper I think, took it tooling around, then decided I really had no desire to spend the next 24 hours of my life doing those "too frustrating to be fun" pursuits. As it is in order to GET to the 4th or 3rd position in the rankings I had to use the "sit on top of the buses" cheat to lose my pursuers, and I kinda hate doing that.

The game had reached the point for me where it was no longer fun, and was (instead) frustrating. Theres no joy in racing for 15 solid minutes racking up wanted points or whatever and then getting busted in the end......meh, not fun.

And yet, I have the desire to go and replay it, because getting up to that point is alot of fun.

As of right now I have no desire to go back to the all night racing of Carbon.

I got to a certain point and kind of put it away. The game was better than most of the crap EA has done with the NFS series since its heydey on the 3DO but it still isn't a great game.

I think I'll sell it since I don't play it anymore.

I found using a car that can handle is the best way to win. I beat the game using the VW Golf all the way through. Used all the junkman parts on after I had ultimate everything.

I've gotten that car up to 241 mph which is as high as I've gotten any car.

I found the bus station bounty thing to be boring and it takes way too long.

I believe the best way to get bounty is near the old boat dock. There is a side road that goes in there and right across from the shop is an opening that goes behind a building. Anytime you are being chased you just drive into that little alley way and the cops never come in there. I've had a dozen Vettes on my tail and pulled in and just waited for the cooldown to run it's course. I've never had a cop follow me in there.

I got my signle pursuit rap sheet to number 1 on everything doing this. I just go in a big circle through the boat dock and back out on the road smashing through the road blocks as needed then duck into the alley whenever it suites me and that's all she wrote.

Dude i loved NFS:MW, freaking sweet game
some of my friends play that game
had it on pc, played through it but didnt really care for it.

and to whoever said all the cars are drive the same when maxxed out.... yea right. compare the SLR and the Gallardo, you can easily tell the difference, the gallardo goes where you want with AWD, and the slr is all over the place.
I rented it for a week soon after its release. Fast forward to today, rented Carbon, got hooked on that, so I bought both MW and Carbon.

When carbon hits the $29.99 range I'm buying. I had great fun with MW....but twoards the end of the game, frankly, the bus station trick is the only way I can survive, and even then it doesn't always work..AND..its cheap....get tired of having to drive fast for hours just to build up stats :P
