Doesn't the article state that you can't even tell the difference before and after the fix?

Sony also provided instructions that allowed us to modify the service menu to address the issue ourselves....After the fix, our KDS-60A2000 passed the test pattern normally.

as of yet no one has reported being the beneficiary of this 'fix'.

That's because the LPF setting info has not been released yet.

Yes, exactly. That is the interesting part.

Oliver Stone is writing a screenplay about this issue as we speak.

Thanks to Googer, it now doesn't matter what your build date is.

Replacement set for original one with a couple of dust spots on the inside of the screen. This one is going back too because there are over 15 dust spots on this one. What luck?

I'm pretty bummed. I just got my set from Outpost and opened it and it is a June build: 9000407-- the earliest build I've seen yet. I'm just setting it up now so hopefully all is well.

Why so down, the early ones are just as good. You can change the LPF if need be, so no worries.

My kds60a2000 is now in its custom cabinet, so getting at the back of the tv is difficult. Which of the numbers on the TV's packaging label represents the serial number? I am filling out warranty info, and there are 3 sets of numbers. There is a set of numbers beginning with P, followed by eight numbers and the letter X. Then I have a set of numbers under the UPC symbol, which is ten digits. Finally, another set of numbers beginning with S, followed by nine numbers and the letter X. Within those nine digits,I have a seven digit run of 9004341. Would that be the serial number? I think it is, but I must get the serial number right on the warranty. Thanks for any help in figuring this out.

Okay, I figured it out. My set was built in July, serial number 9004341.

Is the riddle solved yet?
just picked up from the retailer and my AUG built serial is 09020427 (from the info menu). Haven't looked into the service menus yet.
I just got my 50" set and my serial # was 9034195. I don't know how you check what month the build date is though. Based on my number, it's most likely August or September. Just curious now where you check to find out for certain.
